Heidi Grant Murphy and Auréole are a glorious combo, heavenly voice and stellar musicianship. Beautiful arrangements of some favorite lullabies and new ones from around the globe. I love the sweet "Where Do You sleep,"Bill Mayer's cute "Zoom-bah," the extraordinarily aethereal "Lullabye of Crete" and "Hommage ća B.B.", Richard Rodney Bennet's sensuous, "Sleep Baby Don't Cry" and the very touching Yiddish lullaby, "Ver Hot aza Yingele" arranged by David Spear. Bravo Heidi and the musicians. Last Christmas I had the divine pleasure of seeing them perform together at the Metropolitan Museum of art. Bravo Koch Int'l Classics. And by the way, it's not just me who loves this CD, my son does too. But I had to find this listing in Amazon.com's classical section, but I started looking in kids and by title and neither worked.

A beautiful set of songs with 4 fine artists collaberating----the absolute best in chamber music style playing and beauty of sound and song. Bravo!

I think Heidi Grant Murphy has one of the most beautiful voices of our time. She makes these lullibies a pure pleasure to listen to over and over. This CD is a must for every family!!

This CD constains some beautiful singing. We gave six of these as Christmas gifts to friends and relatives with young children. They all loved it. Now I am online to buy two more for others who have heard it.

It's obvious that the musicians on this disc care deeply about every sound they make. They understand how to work together, how to let every line breath, how to make this music sound as good as it can. I was particulary taken with some of the compositions - specifically the Yiddish and the Greek. (The knocking sounds in the Greek are haunting!) Most of these works are new to me, and most welcome additions. I've been listening to this disc every day!

Magical and soothing, that's how I discribe the music. I received this CD as a Christmas gift and am very impressed with the quality of the singing. Heidi's singing says she enjoys what she is doing and this subject is very special to her personally. I phoned a cousin and let him and his wife hear one of the songs-they were impressed and pleased. It was my cousins anniversay and this was the first opportunity they had had hear her sing professionally. What a treat for those of us who have known her for many years to be able to be able to share such wonderful music with our families, especially our young children. I have played the CD for my grandson and find that the music helps him settle down when it is time to go to sleep.

This is not child's play, but a sophisticated collection of lullabies, both traditional and new, composed and arranged by some of the best composers working today. The musicians of Aureole and the angelic voice of Heidi Grant Murphy cooperate beautifully to create a compelling recording that reveals more and more with each hearing.

The Greek lullaby of George Tsontakis, Jonathan Elliott's plaintive Hungarian "hommage a b.b." and WIlliam Mayer's enchanting "Zoombah"; these are but a few of the wonderful selections on this unusual and enchanting recording. It would be great to hear these fine musicians collaborate again.

Please note that this is NOT a recording for "easy listening," because the pieces are challenging, but they are beautiful and lulling in the very best lullaby tradition.

As a musician myself, I must say that this is music-making of the very highest rank.

I ordered this CD based on the high marks given by other commentators. It might be ok for very small babies, but my son did not seem to like it better than the classical music that was often on. And I found the CD really tedious to listen to.

I bought this well composed CD for my niece and boy did it calm her in the evenings before bed... she's out like a light in a short while everytime. Her mother thanks me but I thank Amazon for featuring this. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try something different if you have the taste for unique products.
