I had the privilege of being in South Africa with Freeman Patterson on a workshop recently where I was introduced to a copy of this book. I took it to my room one evening and was taken away into another place by the incredible images and artistry that Andre' has masterfully put together in this wonderful book. I have long admired Andre' and Freeman's book Photo Impressionism and was thrilled to have a book that focuses on the montage technique. The images are inspirational and the text is clear and helpful to those who are desirous to try this fun technique. I strongly recommend this book!

I am sure this book will become a well used and treasured favorite! Not only for the sheer joy of simply browsing its pages, but also as an instruction manuel for working out new skills and techniques in expanding my own phtographic efforts. Or as André so aptly put it, "fulfilling my need for deeper expression through photography".

I had the priviledge of meeting and studying with André at a Freeman Patterson workshop several years ago. I listened carefully and took copious notes, but they pale beside the simple and direct way the information is presented in "Dreamscapes". Any photographer desiring to reach beyond the factual representation of subjects would be well advised to add this volumne to their library.

PS - Keep your copy in plain view on the coffee table. Your non-photograhy friends will enjoy it for the simple beauty of André's work.

Outside of traditional Landscape and Nature photography this is without a doubt the most impressive book of photos I have ever seen , With the techniques and ideas explored between the covers of the book ,anyone should be able to take their efforts to new levels.

I cant wait to get out in the field to experiment with each and everyone of Andre Gallant ideas. This is a book that will be left out in the open for everyone that visits to appreciate.

Andre's photo montages are fantastic . This book gives some basic tips on how to create your own. It will definetly get your creative juices flowing. Also looks great on anyones coffee table.

It was a nice blend of intriguing photos and useful how-to text, making it possible to imagine my own dreamscapes with photos I have on hand. Now I have the tools to try some of my own experiments.

Dreamscapes is a gorgeous coffee table book that goes beyond the beautiful photograph. The images are evocative, the pages are thoughtfully laid out and the text is clear. Where it goes beyond mere page turning is that the author shares his techniques for making these images. Whether the photos are peaceful or haunting, graphic or simply beautiful, Gallant shares his secrets of creating them. I have spent more time shooting and playing with my slides since discovering this book than I have in a very long time. For people that are ready and willing to go beyond the literal photograph, I can't imagine a better guide.

Have you seen a countless number of photos ? Are you a little bored about the typical landscapes, close ups, portraits, nature, sport images ? Are you looking for a new dimension to express yourself by photo images ? Yes ? Then this book will be the right one for you ! This is not a book to show you the latest manipulation technics with your digital equipment. This book beams you in a new dimension how to change your photos into "art". Andre Gallant shows 4 different ways to create "dreamscapes". Combining of unrelated images, inverting an image, in and out focus technics, vertical and horizontal combinations. There are a lot of examples for each of these technics and the results are amazing. I'am sure this book will start a creative prozess in your mind no matter if you are a digital or analog photographer.

I have been wanting to try Andre Gallant's method of creating "dreamy" photographs. His book clearly demonstrates how he does it...and I have tried it with good results. I just need more practice!

Although the photos are done the old-fashioned way (i.e. montages of film slides and non digital in their creation); they are incredibly beautiful and imaginative. The Book is a gift to my partner who is a photographer.
