Book Description

August 25, 2000
THE SHAPE OF PAST DREAMS. . .Hyndla Shenvirl has no past. Who is she? Why is she taller than anyone else she knows? Are there other beings like her? The chance to answer those questions comes when the Tiria seeks her help in finding allies to fight the Elasians. Hyndla’s quest may lead her to the very truth she yearns for, but her journey is doomed if she cannot trust the mysterious man the Tiria asks to accompany her.

THE SHAPE OF PRESENT DREAMS. . .Runolf Tocho is haunted by fears that he is the last of his kind. He alone guards the secrets no one else must be privy to. His journey to learn if any others of his people survive becomes entangled with Hyndla’s quest. He cannot ignore this fascinating, courageous woman, but to fall in love with her might waylay him from finding another creature of the forest like him.

THE SHAPE OF DREAMS TO COME. . .To serve the Tiria, Hyndla and Runolf must forge an alliance between the myths of the past and their hopes for the future. To protect their hearts, they must deny the desire that connects them in ways neither could have imagined. . .and which may reshape their dreams of love forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars World of Fantasy, October 9, 2000
This review is from: Dreamshaper (Paperback)
J. A. Ferguson's Dreamshaper is a return to the world of Gayome, and the magic of Dreamsinging and shapechangers. Abnormally tall, Hyndla Shenvirl doesn't know where she came from. Abandoned as a child, her loyalty now belongs to the new Tyria, Nerienne. To help her ruler, she seeks allies hidden in the myths of the past. Secretly fearing and hoping, she searches for the people who may represent her birthright. Traveling along with Hyndla and a hastily gathered band of misfits, is Runolf Tocho, who has fantastic secrets of his own. He also searches for others of his kind, wondering if they may be extinct. His growing love for Hyndla makes him uneasy. Will his feelings for her hold him back from his search? Their adventure takes a disturbing turn when they indeed find the mythical, potentially violent Thrym, and try to make an alliance with them. Will Hyndla stay with these tall, handsome people, or will she take a chance on Runolf? J. A. Ferguson has created a wonderful otherworld, peopled with fantastic creatures, marvelous magic, and good old-fashioned love. Read it, and you'll fall in love, too.
