This review is from: Dreamsong-Love in the Asy (Audio CD)
I was studying electronic engineering at Padova University (Italy, between Verona and Venice) in the first years of '80. At that time, Padova was a good place where listen to a lot of great music. Professor Giovanni De Poli and some others, members of IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique, www.ircam.fr) give us the opportunity to listen to some experimental pieces of computer music in a theatre where someone like me could discover the incredible musical vision of Michael McNabb.
Love in the asylum is a sort of Magical Journey in the poetry of human condition, discovered through the mental illness, developed in an incredible abstact form. The original was playing on multiple channels (maybe six), giving to the listener the feeling to loose the self in the spacetime... Listen to this true genious to discover things never heard... Thanks Michael to exist. Mauro Ps: many thanks to Prof. De Poli to make me also discover Vasilij Kandinskij during our great conversation about Michael's music.
