About the Author

A native North Carolinian, Dr. Sadler set up what is thought to be the first microcomputer laboratory in the country for the teaching of writing (on the campus of Bennett College), pioneered in computer-assisted composition and coined the term, and published the first journal in the field (done with desktop publishing). As Vice President of Academic Affairs at Methodist College, she originated the first conference on academic computing in North Carolina. She was Visiting Distinguished Scholar in the "Educational Leadership for a Competitive America" seminar of the United States Office of Personnel Management, presented at the First International Milton Symposium in England, and was Director of a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar for College Teachers on "The Novel of Slave Unrest."
