The Tones huh... It's pretty rare these days to discover an album as versatile as this one. Solid listen all the way through. Jazzy, hip-hop sounds that range from introspective head-knockers to energetic, party-starters. Go see `em live. No doubt about it - a quality debut from this Bay Area duo. Recommended.

These guys have true talent and something to say that actually makes sense. I happen to catch the release party in San Francisco and they had the crowd jumping. With the blended sound of the music, lyric's and the voices of the Tones, makes it truly soulful and brings back the roots of hip-hop. I personally love the song Fly Angel, very touching. Keep doing what you do we want more.

You know what's better than a group that has an album you can listen to from Alpha to Omega? A live performance that is even more solid. The Tones have an established and soulful sound that weaves thru all types of topics and soundscapes. Definitely a good purchase!

Fresh hiphop from the Bay AREA!,
This review is from: Dreamtalk (Audio CD)
I've been waiting for hiphop like this from the Bay Area. These guys have the voices, the soul, and the right beats. Check out tracks like "if you could change" or "fly angel" for some deep introspective sh$t and tracks like "the movmeant" or "Get u high" for that bangin hard hiphop. Overall a solid album. Plug Label does it again!

Who are these guys? i'm well aware of the bay area indi hip hop scene but i've never heard of them, until now. Reminiscence of Mob Deep with dilla ish sound. The duo has nice style to their flow and good touch of jazzy production behind them. My favorite is track number 10 but there are other joints on this album that's worth the purchase.
