5.0 out of 5 stars A Fan from Pasadena
I found the music on this cd to be very relaxing it took me away from the hussle and bussle and made me forget everything that was weighting heavy on my mind. I recommend this CD for anyone who wants to get away from it all. Just put the music on and let it take you away!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of suspicious....
I find it hard to believe that there could be 17 reviews of this album and not ONE of them mentions the uncanny resemblance of this band's sound to that of Steely Dan. Furthermore, all but one of these reviews are anonymous and most of them are very short blurb-like remarks, not to mention that every single one of them gives the album 5 stars! It makes one wonder whether...

Furthermore, all but one of these reviews are anonymous and most of them are very short blurb-like remarks, not to mention that every single one of them gives the album 5 stars! It makes one wonder whether these "reviews" are possibly being supplied by people friendly to the band, at least.
As a disinterested person, let me opine that this is a perfectly decent, well-executed smooth-jazz album, with several songs featuring Donald Fagen-like vocals. Admittedly, sounding so much like the Dan is no small feat, and there is not exactly a glut of new Steely Dan product being released, but it is tough to listen to one of the vocals and not be distracted by the similarity. If this doesn't bother you, then this album could be a reasonable purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, August 26, 1999

Excellent CD. I found this through an airplay on a jazz station in San francisco and just fell in love instantly. "City of the second chance" and "With your love" are my favorites, but the other songs are also great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jazz for all ages..., November 7, 1999
By A Customer

Last weekend I thought I had for sure gone off the deep.... I was out my Mothers house and auctually enjoying her easy listening- Jango. I ordered it and it is Amazing. This is a CD you can listen to over and over... Even if you are not over thirty. Ordinarily I would not admit to such a dull flair in my music tastes but this album is an absolute masterpiece. Jango is here to stay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jango is Goodo, November 26, 2009
This review is from: Dreamtown (Audio CD)
Ok so I am a big Steely Dan fan and this album has often the same sound. A bad thing? I think not. I listen to the album over and over at work. Love it. I recommend it.
But I must go along with all the reviews by "customer" that is a little odd. But on the upside, I agree with the customers, and I don't know the band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Light Jazz, October 24, 2003

Had to get this one - and really enjoyed it - I have a novel published by a small press - right here on Amazon -same title, Dreamtown - about - a jazz musician. Synergy in the universe or something. Really mellow, good cd. (listen and read at the same time.)

I heard this CD at a party, and it caught me. The name got my attention, I mean after all, LA is Dreamtown. Who are these guys? They sound so familiar and so fresh. I bought the CD the next day, and I am still listening to it daily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamite for any mood, anytime, anyplace, May 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Dreamtown (Audio CD)
I spend a lot of time listening to new music, considering it for radio airplay. Most of it sounds like the last thing I listened to. Here is another formula record, trying to sound like who ever is big on the charts. I put Jango in the CD and was simply blown away. It is the freshest new group I have heard in the past 12 months. My only problem was, which cuts should I get on the air. I have added three tracks, but if I could have added the whole CD, I would have done that without hesitation. Jango truly is what Los Angeles is all about. Angelinos are about diversity of cultures and beliefs that come together in a unique blend that is truly Southern California. Jango is that and more. Thanks for the great music !!
