5.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff without Fluff
I am a FrontPage user and just bought the Dreamweaver4, Flash5 and Fireworks4 suite. I spent HOURS pouring over books on DW4 - I don't want a bunch of story-telling in an instructional book - I want the facts, up front, in an intelligent format and this book has it - the accompanying CD is a Realworks Video that covers the topics and is very good as well. My only beef is...

1.0 out of 5 stars For beginners only.....
I was quite disappointed at the amount coverage of the Dreamweaver 4 functionality provided on the CD.
Most topics were presented very minimally and some topics were not covered at all (ie Cascading Style Sheets).
I think it is very unfair to charge an additional $30, to get the "Extra" CD. The information/topics covered by the "Extra" CD...

My only beef is that the CD covers the beginner intro, you have to go to the website and buy the intermediate and advanced CD ($30 each) for this book and they should all be on the one CD in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Robert Fuller's Dreamweaver 4 Virtual Classroom, August 29, 2001

I would recommend Mr. Fuller's Dreamwever 4 Virtual Classroom. This book is very easy to follow, especially for those of us who are just starting to use this great software. In this book, Mr. Fuller explains the different components of a webpage with easy- to-follow steps and visual representations. To compliment the book, there is also an interactive cd-rom to follow the book's examples. If you are a visual learner like me, this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver 4 Virtual Classroom, August 31, 2001

Excellent Book! After attending a $2,000.00, 12-week, HTML class, purchasing numerous books, to include; HTML & Dreamweaver 3 VISUALLY, Visual Quickstart Guides, Electrify Your Website in a Weekend, Dreamweaver 3-Hands-On Training, and the books that came with the software program,Dreamweaver 4, I still felt lost! I really wanted to learn how to design a web site, but felt most of these books were either to vague or to technical. I was looking for something to guide me as I learned.

Robert Fuller's, Dreamweaver 4 was the answer! After purchasing the book, I thought, here I go again... lets see where this book will take me. To my amazement, after watching the Virtual CD and following the steps in the book, I finally found a resource that would guide me as I learned. I would recommend this book to ANYONE who needs user-friendly guidance in learning a new application! If the college, where I teach software applications, would implement Dreamweaver into their curriculum, I would HIGHLY recommend this book as a teaching tool!

ok, the title says it all, I am a webdeveloper amature, but the sun was shining the day I picked up this educational book and cd.
Robert Fuller did a superb job doing the video instructions, that it made the hard stuff look easy...it really took a lot of the confusion that I was experiencing with Dreamweaver completely out of the way. I still refer to the manual and video as often as possible so I can continue to learn this great web program, and I fully expect to get more involved with all of Macromedias'
products. There is great benefit for all who make this investment, whether an amature (such as myself) or experienced.

What a wonderful introduction to Dreamweaver. So wonderful that I use it as one of my texts in my Web design and Introduction to Dreamweaver courses that I teach. The CD that accompanies the book is a bit of a tease. But, for the visual learner will have you building Web pages in no time.

READER FROM CHICAGO, IL .."for beginners only"
hey man, it states on the cover of this book that it's a beginner's book, so why you complaining? lol
it's your carelessness in not checking enough b4 buying the book that made you buy it. It maybe a one star or 2 star book if it claimed that it was an advance level book, but it doesn't state that, does it? =)

This is the best beginner-intermediate level book on DW(yes, in comparison to DW Visual Quickstart, or any other book for this level). PERIOD.

5.0 out of 5 stars With this book I can even learn DreamWeaver., October 4, 2001
This review is from: Dreamweaver 4 Virtual Classroom (Paperback)
I am looking to further enhance my own web page and was trying to find a book or software that was easy to follow and understand while giving me the tools, tips and tricks I needed to make the changes. I am sure glad I found this book and cd; it was exactly what I was looking for.

The book has 350 pages and I think there could have been 350 more. Packed with helpful information from the very start, this combination makes learning Dreamweaver a real breeze.

From planning the site, working with text, images, links and tables to forms, frames, layers, CSS and multimedia, you can learn at your own pace and make sure you understand the concept before moving on the next area.

Also include are topics like java scripting, Dreamweaver power tools, working with FireWorks. The author has taken a great deal of time and effort to create one of the best step by step layouts of teaching I have ever seen. With the cd included it like having the instructor right at your side.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning was never this much fun, October 3, 2001
This review is from: Dreamweaver 4 Virtual Classroom (Paperback)
This is a great series and it's about time instuction took this kind of level to task. The "personal instructor" video approach works great for me and it allowed me to use Dreamweaver 4 immediately without the usual intimidation one feels with a new program. I got very comfortable with the instruction and was able to get to work with the program (Dreamweaver 4) extremely fast. The Brainsville video format is very cool. Thanks again for exploring this avenue of instructor-based video-CD books and I hope you have plans for many future software releases. The software companies should thank you for helping others use their complex programs that often intimidate us.
