It took about a week to get the pillow broken in so that it was not so hard. I do not mean it was rock llike; it was just alot of feathers that needed to get packed down so that I was comfortable.

I like the pillow but have only one thing that I dislike about it: I like cool pillows and tend to flip my pillow around through the night so that it stays cool to the head. Since the magnets are on one side, I can not filp it.
