I used dreft for my daughter 5 yrs ago, and it would take out every stain, and it is not harsh on her skin. What I loved the most is a little goes a long way. I had received 3 boxes, and literally unitl this day I still have 1 1/2 boxes left.

I've been a Dreft powder user since my children were babies, quite a few years ago. It was recommended by my pediatrician, and I've continued using it for my family. For a couple of years the powder form has been hard to locate, as most detergents now come in liquid form, but being opininated and old fashioned, I still prefer the powder. Now Amazon is the only place I can find it, so I'm on the auto-order program, and hoping the manufacturer will not stop making it. I've tried numerous other brands of detergent over the years, but still come back to Dreft powder for the best cleaning.

Dreft has been in my life since the 1940's. My mother kept a small box of Dreft powder under the kitchen sink for our daily dish washing routine and hand washing of woolen sweaters, mittens and hats. Nowadays, I use 1-2 tablespoons of powdered Dreft per load in my front load washing machine, and much less for a basin full of hand laundry or woolens, hand washing dishes and especially glassware, soaking pans with stubborn baked on food, washing windows, and general cleaning, including floors. A little bit goes a long way. Any glassware and window use, leaves them squeaky clean with clear evidence that it has completely rinsed away. I've made my husband a believer in that he has switched from the old vinegar and crumpled newspaper for window washing, to, "Where's the Dreft?" It gets things really clean without leaving behind an unwelcomed strong perfume smell or residue that might encourage itchy skin. It was after all, developed and is famous for laundering baby clothes. While I am unaware of its chemical formula, I trust that it is one of the purest cleaning products on the market. Lately, it has become increasingly difficult to purchase powdered Dreft locally, so here we are once again on Amazon, fulfilling our wishes and necessities lists.

My husband insists this is the only detergent he can use with his skin sensitivities, so I used to buy it for him at our local grocery store. I don't think a lot of people were buying it, so the store stopped stocking it. I found it here, and bought a case. His skin is so sensitive that he can actually tell when I use the unscented/no dyes brand I use!

Dreft cleans well, but this is a powder (he insists the liquid version does not clean as well). The problem with powders is that sometimes bits of the powder don't dissolve and stay on some clothing after washing. To avoid this, I just double rinse all of his laundry. He likes the baby powdery smell. I cannot stand it, and usually use my own brand of unscented liquid detergent, but I know it does clean very well and is very gentle on his skin.

At the suggestion of the Vet Tech we used Dreft powder to soak the open to the muscle hotspot which our aging foster boxer opened in his foreleg. It took a month of daily warm water 30 minute soaks and very thorough bandaging but when I stopped the soaks, hair was regrowing.

One thing that the Tech told me was that this was a burn unit trick she had learned. I was really impressed with the results. And the boxer gradually got used to standing with a leg in a horse bucket without tipping it over on the bathroom floor.

The original would was horrid. The dreft soak was essentially the sole treatment because with 2 kinds of cancer, he didn't need daily antibiotics to cause another issue.

I have no idea how this works for laundry but I did use it when the kids were babies and I liked it then too.

This works great at getting out stains on my daughters clothes, better than my own detergent even.
