5.0 out of 5 stars Swod ‎- Drei October 1, 2013
Format:Audio CD
The jazz piano that starts off DREI soons merges into some musique concrete, before "Sans Pau" goes off in an aboriginal direction, though that fades to the background as the piano and bass take charge. "Insel" gets back to the more meditative mode, and "Hellerau" brings in a lovely musique concrete antsiness. "The Pilot" veers between these two poles for a fascinating texture, with some added cello for additional flavor, while the simplicity of "Liebling" carries overtones of some of Craig Armstrong's more romantic piano works. "Largo" delves back into post-rock territory, The album is short but nothing short of powerful.
