These work. At the end of resharpening an 18" chain (bar length) twice, they're warn enough that they don't have the right diameter for a third. I don't know enough about grinding to know if a harder stone is better in this case. So I gave these five stars because they do the job they're intended to do and they do that well. A chain that's been sharpened with one of these grinders stays sharp hours longer than one sharpened by hand with a file. These boil down to about $3.50 per sharpening which takes about 10 minutes.

I do a lot of trail work with our local AT chapter - always use these to sharpen my chain - better than any chain sharpening place as they tend to take off too much metal - a few swipes across the teeth using the Dremel Chainsaw guide with these stones and your good to go - Don't need to use any pressure, just 4-6 very smooth in/out strokes does the trick.

easy to use-EVERYONE has A Motor tool, like a Dremel!!! you can sharpen the chain in 3 minutes- makes it like new. I have LOST more of these stones than I have worn out- hint-whilst using in rotary tool, move stone back and forth to wear stone evenly. great product. I will ALWAYS buy DREMEL BRAND stones. Cheapo stones (bought once from the everything-is-from-china store-stones shattered quickly)

I ordered 4 of these and they work very well for sharpening a chainsaw. Just make sure you get the correct diameter. Could be longer lasting as I only get 3 sharpenings out of them until they are too small diameter wise.

These do a decent job of sharpening a chain. But they only last a short time because they wear down very quickly.

I switched to the diamond embedded ones Amazon sells. Much faster sharpening and much longer lasting.

I use these for sharpening my chainsaw blade. Originally I had purchased a sharpening kit that came with three different sizes of these as well as a guide that screws onto the front of the dremel to get the angle right.

Don't bother with the kit, just buy these and eyeball the angle. This size fits my chainsaw and they are all I need to keep the chainsaw sharp.

I use these with a hand jig attached to my dremel tool for sharpening the teeth on my 16" chain saw. The stone material is good for about 7 or 8 uses, depending on how aggressive I am in sharpening. I find these to work much better than the diamond studded shafts which lose their effectiveness (diamond dust comes off) after one or two uses.

These things work great!
Thay don't last very long; maybe two or three sharpenings.
Even with such a short working life, they worth the money and sure beat doing it with a hand file. I believe I've placed three different orders for these round wonders and suspect I'll more in the future.
