It is a carbide engraver point and it marks metals quite well. Sort of expensive but it should last for many years.

This is a good bit but a little pricey no matter where you buy it because it's a Dremel. I have engraved at least 30 items of steel and plastic and it is as sharp now as it was when I got it. I'd consider it a "great" bit if it's this sharp after 100 engravings.
