This is the Dremel accressory that I've been looking for. A great little metal cut-off wheel. Sturdy, cuts through small nuts and bolts, and does not seem to break. It fits in tight places, and is perfect for the handyman with demo. problems. It is not going to cut through rebar, but most Dremel users already know that. Forget those little waffer disc's. The quick change mandrel is a bonus!!

I use the dremel to cut out odd shapes from 1/8 in aluminum. In an hour I often go through 5-6 discs. I now only use 2-3 and they are very easy to change. Well worth the extra money, since you get the same number of cuts out of them and save time!

Excellent addition to the Dremel line. These wheels will impress many a skeptic. I think they last even longer than the claimed "2 X's" the other fiber glass reinforced wheels.

The new EZ Lock mandrel is a good addition to your Dremel accesories, particularly if you use cut-off wheels regularly. It make it somewhat easier to change cut-off wheels, but since the EZ Lock mandrel works with only a few other Dremel accesories, you still have to change mandrels to use your other accessories. The cut-off wheels supplied are heavier duty and seem to last longer than Dremel's previous heavy duty wheels.

the wheels work well. the dremel tool, however, is not designed to take the high loads of laterally cutting through tough steel or other materials. after several uses, the bearings on the dremel started to wear and now there is a bit of play. I would recommend using a remote attachment that is easy and cheap to replace to do heavy cutting.

the quick release mechanism is easy to use and a solid design... big improvement over the screw type mandrel.

nice product, much better system than the black wheels you screw on, they would always break and be a pain to change. I havent broken one of these yet.

The EZ Lock mandrel is just what I have been looking for all these years. I've spent countless hours using my dremel to cut metal parts and the old grinding wheels would easily break apart. The replacement process was painful, requiring using a small set screw and a screw driver.

The EZ Lock mandrel can accept a variety of EZ Lock attachments such as polishing wheels, and more importantly, the cut-off wheels that are included in this starter kit. Essentially, the EZ Lock mandrel has a locking cam that requires you to insert the attachment and rotate it 90 degrees so that it fits into another pattern allowing you to secure it. This is a simple 1 second procedure that doesn't require any special tools. It is a true time saver for the hobbyist or gearhead that makes use of cutting wheels for projects.

The downside is the cutting wheel itself. The labeled surface is not very abrasive, so you can't use that side to grind stuff or smooth out surfaces. I know that cutting wheels are really intended to be used as cutting wheels, but I frequently use the wheels to smooth surfaces as well although you can use an abrasive bit to do the same job. The underside of the wheel (the dark side) is abrasive and can be used to sharpen/smooth out metal. The cutting wheels are larger, thicker, and more flexible than the cheap wheels that are the thickness of postage stamps. It is well worth the extra cost.

Pros: The EZ Lock mandrel is a true time saver, a MUST BUY for any dremel/rotary tool kit

Cons: ZERO - the mandrel is awesome!

Overall: 5/5 stars, absolute must buy for anyone that has a dremel/rotary tool

If your like me, then you have used metal cut-off wheels from Dremel for years with frustration. This cut off wheel is different. It's thicker, and its strong, and it's very fast to change out. You will find yourself changing wheels because they have worn down, and NOT because they have shattered. When I originally purchased my Dremel, it was with the purpose of making quick, accurate cuts in small metal. With this product, I can finally do that without replacing a broken wheel every 2 minutes.

Probably one of the best tools I've gotten for my Dremel. EZ Lock is an accurate name for this. A well designed system for quickly switching cutoff wheels. I may end up getting all the EZ Lock attachments and hope they make more types. The wheels make short work of screws and nails and are good for shallow wood cuts. A highly recommended tool for all Dremel owners.

works well, I used not even a full disk to cut out all the excess metal in my keys(to reduce pocket weight), which are stainless steel mostly. Also use the fine grit purple attachment for polishing rust off some of the parts under the hood of my car.
