Product Description

The Dremel EZ Drum mandrel makes sanding band changes easy as PULL - PLACE - SECURE. The one-piece mandrel design simplifies the process of changing sanding bands and makes it easy to sand flat surfaces and edges.

Customer Reviews

I love it with my Dremel A576 Sanding/Grinding Guide to grind dogs nails.

This sanding drum and mandrel makes it very easy to change sanding drums compared to the old stye which requires the screw driver and small screw.

Threw it out and just went back to my 10 year old band that I have to screw on and off every time.

Picked this up because I was doing a project that required alot of sanding bands (sanding cast iron smooth), and thought the "EZ" drum would save me time and frustration. Wrong. It just angered me even more. Bands were sliding up and down all over. Threw it out and just went back to my 10 year old band that I have to screw on and off every time. A complete waste of money IMO.

This Item worked perfectly at first, the drum slid on with ease as opposed to the old style screw down. After around three minutes of use at full power though the drum started sliding around, at first I though it was just the drum loosening then after switching to a new drum I realized that the problem was the rubber that held the drum into place. It's designed to much for ease of use and not for the toughness I had come to know from Dremel previously, I purchased and tested another from Lowes just to be sure, and sure enough. I found an off brand product by searching 1/2" sanding mandrel for a dollar more (Including shipping)with two well built mandrels and 100 fantastic sanding belts, works like a charm just like the old ones did. Amazingly better value for the price.

As much as I love new innovations this one is simply a cruddy gimmick. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is the product I found, totals at 11.50 with shipping. Amazing deal, better product. Hands down.

As is typical of our industry these days, we come up with amazing ideas that are clever and very well thought out, and then we ruin them by building them to the lowest possible quality level. This product seemed like an amazing alternative to the frustrating screw on version that comes with the tool originally, and it worked perfectly at first. But after only a little usage, the sanding band would no longer be held in place by the mandrel, which rendered it useless.

Worked fine for about 6 times and then would not lock the sanding disc anymore. I had to wrap the blue wheel with duct tape to increase the diameter to make it work. It still would not grip the disc after a while. Needs a better gripping wheel.

I use my Dremel rotary tool to groom my big dog's toenails. I like to change the sanding band out
often and wanted to try this quick release mandrel hoping it would make those frequent change outs
easy. Some people complained about the rubber head on the mandrel not 'grabbing' the sanding band
well and the sanding band moving up and down along the rubber head of the mandrel under use.
Unfortunately, I found the same thing to be happening, so I have gone back to the typical sanding band
mandrel.

I use this to buff my feet, to remove dead skin and callouses and it works great. Mandrel makes changing the sand band a lot easier

I got this to replace the sanding mandrel that I got with my dremel tool.

this one, unlike the origional, makes it easy to replace the sanding band by pulling up on the band, slipping it off the blue plastic, and replacing it with a new band. then pushing it down to lock it in place.

the origional kind, you had to unscrew a small screw and plate to remove it. a waste of time.

this makes any job a lot quicker!

a good price from Amazon, and they are in stock.

The local stores did not carry this particular mandrel, but it was "included" in a much bigger (and expensive) sanding pack.
but I already had many of the items that are included in that pack. So it would have been a wast of money to get that one.

I have trouble with all the little mandrels for Dremel. This kind is a bit easier with no unscrewing. But it still is tricky to get the drum on.
