Dremel MM11 Multi-Max Hook and Loop Sand Pad

After several uses, I've found the sanding pad works fine. Not wanting to pay for Dremel's sandpaper sheets, I hunted for another option and found Home Depot carries "Gator Zip Sander XL" refill sheets. They're 3-7/8 x 9-7/8 and I can cut 4 triangles for the Dremel from each sheet. A pack of 6 is about 7 bucks. It's not hard to do the math on that!

I purchased the dremel oscillator about a year ago to assist in removing existing paint from my stairs so I could re-paint them.
I discovered very quickly that the dremel sand pad was less than ideal for this application. The sanding pads would get coated & clogged in paint within minutes. As the sanding pad does most of its work at the corners, that's where the sanding pad would get clogged up first rendering it useless. I would have to take the sanding paper off the pad and rotate it to get a clean corner.
After a few hours the Velcro on the actual pad started to wear out and I had to purchase another sanding pad.
I would not recommend the sanding pad for any paint removal work.

This holder works well, but it wore out fast on the tips.
I am careful to hold the pad flat on the surface, but the tips still tend to wear...this is really easier said than done.
The little hooks are pretty much shot on the tips of the triangle on mine, and this one I purchased was a replacement for the first one. I probably went through about 2 dozen pieces of sandpaper.
As with many replacement parts and accessories, these are pretty expensive.

I bought this as a replacement for the one that came with my Dremel vibrating tool because I wore out the original pad by chronic abuse. I love this tool--it's one of those that you never knew you needed until you had it and then you think everyone needs one.

My multi-max is my new favorite tool. Then add on all the attachments like this, and it just gets better. This has saved my so much time and effort. Has allowed me to "knock out" all those little nagging jobs. However the wife keeps coming up with more! Ha!

I borrowed this tool from a neighbor and found out that if you even slightly use the tip of the pad it wears the velcro right off. I bought him a replacement one and I will not borrow again. It did sand well but too expensive to buy one each time as I am sanding more than flat services

When I bought my Dremel Trio pack it did not come with a sanding pad. Now the new kit comes with it. go figure.

I love this tool. I wore off the hooks on my orginal sanding pad from sanding 3 sets of bathroom cabinets doors. I have a few more cabinets to refinish yet and needed to replace the pad. This tool makes refinishing so much easier than sanding by hand. The noise level from the motor is a bit loud but earphones and my ipod make the project fun.

I purchased this product for my husband. The old hook and loop sand pad for his Dremel was totally worn and altough he had purchsed that one in person, he wanted to try ordering one online since the price was great! He reports that his new hook and loop sand pad works just as well as the old one and he's thrilled that he was able to save money and time by ordering it through Amazon.com. If you've already used this product before, you will not be disappointed. It will work as well as if you had tried it out in a store.

I bought these Dremel MultiMax accessories to fit on a Fein motor I inherited from my father. It fits perfectly and I really appreciate the hook and loop (velcro) method of attaching sandpaper. These accessories are much cheaper than original parts and they work fine.
