4.0 out of 5 stars How did I ever live without it before.
This blade in the Dremel Multi-Max made very short work of a nasty problem. It made opening old painted over and caulked windows a breeze. If you've ever tried it before without this tool you know that it takes hours and scraped knuckles to do what I did in 45 minutes with this blade and the Multi-Max. The only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 is because 'metal' is not...

2.0 out of 5 stars Needs To cut Nails
Price is good, but an oscillating tool needs to cut nails--ferrous nails--and screws, for that matter. The benefit of "flush cutting" is the ability to deal with problems like broken screw heads, or nails jutting out of nowhere, with no possibility of being pulled out. This tool, like all Dremels, is strictly for hobbyists--little stuff, wood and plastic, is all it's...

I've used this blade and I'm impressed by how well it worked. It's important to use it for its intended purpose. It is meant for soft wood and non-ferrous metals. Don't try to cut nails with this blade, it wasn't made for that!

2.0 out of 5 stars non-ferrous metals ONLY!!!!! STUPID!!!, October 29, 2008
This review is from: Dremel MM422 3/4-Inch Multi-Max Wood and Metal Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Dremel MultiMax does NOT have a "REAL" METAL=IRON=NAILS cutting blade! It is not ready for prime time! This MM422 should be the most durable Dremel puts out. Maybe the MMax motor isn't strong enough to take the pressure? Maybe Dremel/Bosch hasnn't developed the technology to make the blade yet. Who knows?

The MM440 blade that comes with the kit works great on wood by itself. But I hit metal several times and the blade lasted only a month. Many home DIY projects have nails in them. Careful! Get the Fein 250Q or Bosch (with Fein blades) instead and save yourself some frustration.

There are also Chicago & Sonicrafter oscillators but I haven't seen any Real Metal cutting blades for them.

I just think the item deserves a chance, I just received the dremel Multi-max and it does not come with a metal cutting blade it comes with the mm440 which is only for wood.

2.0 out of 5 stars NYC carpenter, October 27, 2010

The price is right but this is not a professional tool. I used it because our multimaster was out of blades. I had to do a demo job for some gem boxes and had to go through three layers of 3/4" material (pocket door enclosure). Not only did this tool heat-up to the point I could not hold it, it killed two blades doing one box. I then got the multimaster delivered to the site and yes, it did strain, but it got the job done. This tools is ok for home owners/weekend users, but that's about it.

These blades work hard. I've bought a dozen or more with no problem, except the one that fell apart at the joint on the first use! Bit expensive but search for cheaper options

4.0 out of 5 stars Replacement for original Wood blade., March 3, 2010

I like the this wood and metal blade much better than the wood blade. The multi-max itself is a great tool to have available during a remodel..
