Dresden Plate: New Quilts from an Old Favorite presents the five award winners and 13 finalists in the American Quilter's Society 2006 contest, which challenged quiltmakers to interpret a single traditional quilt block in a work of their own design. Format: Paperback
The traditional Dresden Plate design assumes a whole new set of options when tackled with a 'New Quits from An Old Favorite' approach: here are new techniques which tell how to create a Dresden Plate of your own, offering a set of inspiring block designs which assume unique, often three-dimensional special effects. Quilt artists' unique productions serve as inspirational examples, pairing full color photos with artists' insights on special effects and creation.

I’m not excited about this book. It’s ok, somewhat interesting to see what people came up with for this old pattern, but it did not inspire me. I guess I’m a hard sell.
