This is the only rice flour I have found that consistently gives me the same great results I can get from traditional wheat flour--without any pesky gluten (for those of us with celiac or gluten intolerance). I use this 1 for 1 in all my recipes (with a bit of sorghum to hold it together), and I dare say that it even produces better pastries than some of the best wheat (or rice) flour out there, at just a fraction of the cost!

This product is great. However, I just bought this exact same item (same packaging, etc.) for one dollar for a one pound bag at a local Asian market near me, which is mostly frequented by Thai and Vietnamese people.

I had to butt in a bit because if you just go to a local asian market, or China town, you can find a bag of this for $1 more or less. If you're buying it to make mochi, there is even a box one called "Mochiko" and there is a blue star -- that is the Japanese brand. I actually find that one a lot better for making mochi, but since this one is so inexpensive, I get this one instead. Sometimes I can taste the starch in it much more, but that's could just be me. The boxed one sells for $2-$3 depending on where you are located. This bag is finely ground from glutenous rice, and is really handy to have in stock.
