Oh, I forgot entertaining! Thought I suppose that's a bit of an extravagant description for a book opening our eyes to the American War Machine. A must read for all Americans, especially you US History & Government profs. If US universities really are brain-washing our youth, Drift tells a story I'd love the future of America to learn!

Non-partisan book that really gets at many of the ailments facing this nation. Everybody should read this book. It is so on point and scary that it almost makes you sick to your stomach. Knowledge is power.

Rachel does an excellent job of summarizing how we as a nation have gotten into this military support economy at the cost of most other priorities in the United States. We seem to have become a nation so controlled and manipulated by a few rich and powerful men. She writes well and shows the connections over time. Very good read.

Excellent overview of how and why we stumbled into the Iraq War.

Well documented. Not a political book, folks, a researched chronicle of facts we didn't know, and should. We reject these facts because of our particular political beliefs at our peril.

Just finished this great book. I have been appalled how the government has outsourced so much of its operations to private companies who are acting like soldiers of fortunes. These privateers or pirates are not patriots. The armed forces should take back the military and fire these lucrative companies.

I gave this book as a gift. I like the Author, so felt comfortable in giving it. I haven't heard how they like it yet.

This book is not for everyone. It is quite intellictual, I think, but even those who disagree with it, it should stir some real thinking on War and how it is now fought.

I am taking this book slowly. There is so much information that I need to absorb it fully. The areas which she chooses to discuss are in depth and very well connected to events and people so that a fully developed picture provides a 360 degree view of the subject. Rachel Maddow should be cloned!!!
