Product Description

The Floor is Lava is a fun, fast-paced, puzzle game where the goal is to clear levels by causing floor tiles to fall into the lava below. Attractive 3D graphics, challenging game play, and a truly incredible soundtrack really set the game apart.

"I used to get lost in the local supermarket, but since I've been playing 'The Floor is Lava', I can navigate the aisles perfectly and at great speed!" - Happy supermarketeer.

"There is nothing quite like the Zen of 'The Floor is Lava'. Through careful meditation and yoga, I can almost reach the same happy warm place that 'The Floor is Lava' brings me every game." - Yoga practitioner.

"Daddy, you should make dinosaur bones fall on the dinosaur bone level instead of gems." - Play tester

Online leader boards, achievements, and themed ever-changing levels keep 'The Floor is Lava' fresh long after the flaming molten rock pile has mercilessly consumed you in your first game. Its the most fun you can have without jumping on the furniture!

Can you beat my (arguably impenetrable) high score?

HOW TO PLAY:

Touch the glowing tile. Slide your finger to cross tiles and cause them to fall into the lava below. Clear the level by making all the tiles fall into the lava.

Numbered floor tiles must be crossed more than once before they'll fall.

Walls block paths between tiles.

Catch gems that fall between levels by touching them.

The game is fun and I recommend trying it but the real draw here is a company that listened to the feedback from consumers and removed unneeded permissions and openfeint. I'd love to see more companies review their permissions and the software their introducing onto their users devices.

It's an interesting puzzle game which essentially is a maze puzzle. You have to swipe your fingers across tiles to make them fall into the lava ironically. I'd figure that you'd have to build floors to escape the lava pit, but I digress. Some tiles are numbered meaning you have to swipe over that tile the number of times shown. Walls are also added to tiles to increase difficulty. Graphics are good and the music is too, though slightly depressing at the menu screen. The control of the game needs to be improved which is the main reason for getting 3 stars. I'd have to move my finger really slow or have to move back and reswipe. In a game like this, obviously it's important to be able to swipe quickly and accurately. Lastly, the replay value of the game medium to low. This game is decent but I can't see paying for it. Good choice as FAOTD though. HTC Thunderbolt stock rooted.

'Floor Is Lava' is one of those few 1-5% made for phones/tablets games that's both well done and original. It therefore deserves its 5 stars.

- Rewards careful planning - you walk the chain of tiles beginning from a specific point but you only walk straight or make 90-degree turns but certain tiles must be touched ore than once to fall and some turns are blocked by walls.
- Rewards quick thinking - floor drops closer to the lava as you play and you eventually burn.
- There is also some quick reflexes component where you get extra points if you catch falling gems (yes... I know, 'gets').

Anyone into puzzles may want give it a try because, besides being well implemented - high res graphics, okay music and sound effects, responding well to touch - it's 'different' and therefore interesting.

I enjoyed this and apparently went as far as I could in about 5 minutes. You start all over from the beginning after completing and there's no way to see your high score. I would enjoy longer game play. Played smooth on kindle fire.

The graphics are good and the method of play needs no introduction. But there are two glaring issues that caused me to quickly uninstall.

1) There is no pause between gems dropping and the next puzzle that appears on the same screen real estate. This means that half the time you end up selecting tiles for play before you have even seen the puzzle.

2) There is no apparent means to start the game past the point of your last success. This means the user starts over again with simple puzzles and repeat all the puzzles previously completed.

I love puzzles, but I didn't find this one worthy of a second run through.

This game is a cross-the-room type of game, where you have to go over every tile by dragging your finger over it to clear the level.
It's simple, but is entertaining... if you like that sort of game. The graphics are a bit crude, true, but I can spend some time playing it. There's some room efflorescence improvement, but overall it's a well-rounded game.

This could be an interesting little maze game, but it's got a few issues.

The game didn't inform me I was supposed to be catching the falling gems until several levels in, after I'd already passed up dozens. And there is no delay between the falling gems and the start of the next level, so frequently you end up moving accidentally.

The biggest annoyance though is that there's no way to stop and save your game and there are no checkpoints nor is there anyway to skip levels. You have to play all the way through in one sitting and if you have to quit for any reason, or if you take too long and the lava catches up with you, you have to start the game all over again from the beginning.

It's fun the first few times, but when you realize you have to keep playing the same levels over and over again, it quickly loses its appeal.

This is a reasonable game to play and it is fun. It is like playing a maze game with a pencil and paper except that you have to backtrack some tiles more than once to clear them out. Don't forget to touch the falling jewels after you clear the tiles to raise your score.

The graphics were good and the music was well done and not overwhelming or obnoxious. I did have an issue when I exited a game and then came back to resume it in that the game's graphics flickered multiple times and the controls seemed to lag. This is on a Kindle Fire so I would not expect this type of issue.

I respect that the developer took off OpenFeint and I wish more developers would follow suit. I hope he looks into why the screen flashes after you exit and return to resume the game.
