Drinkwell® filters offer an extra large charcoal filter and duo density pads remove bad tastes and odors making the water more appealing to drink. Filters should be changed every 2 to 4 weeks for maximum water freshness. The original filter features two compartments of charcoal and is compatible with all fountains EXCEPT the Drinkwell® 360.

I was pleased with the price and service of the vendor. The product itself could benefit from a little redesigning, in my opinion. If the filter were taller, there would be less chance of unfiltered water slipping over the top of (or under) the installed filter. I've used the Drinkwell fountain (and filters) for years and have thought this every time I clean the fountain and replace the filter.

This appears to be the only filter that inserts in the drinkwell fountain. I purchased the big dog fountain from Amazon and its working well and the filters seem to be doing their job.

All of the animals in my house have taken to the fountain, so it collects a lot of hair, and I was starting to notice a real decline in performance with the old filter. Changing the filter made the Drinkwell run like new. Normally, I'm not one to keep after small appliance maintenance, but this was worth it. I wish they were individually packaged, however, because now there's a second new filter sitting in a kitchen drawer getting dirty until it is time to change it again.
