Von's texture and pattern books are fantastic design resources, and I have loved using them in a few projects already. The photos that come with the book are great for inspiration to how the patterns can enhance a design.

This book is an amazing addition to my design resources. There are so many design elements available for free on the internet today, but free usually means less quality. This book is packed with hight quality, hand-crafted patterns that can be utilized is numerous ways. This book is definitely worth the money and is a great inspiration.

As a quilter and crafter, I found this book so very inspirational. CD accompanies it with some beautiful designs to use on fabric, paper, etc. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants some very nice artwork to add to projects.

Drip Dot Swirl is a designer and/or illustrators "must-have". Chock full of mind blowing and visually arresting patterns to inspire and add flair to your designs. I purchased Von's first texture book; Crumble Crackle Burn and use it religiously. It's become one of my favorite resources, and I could tell from my intial first round flip-though that this book would follow suit. Von continues to surprise and inspire in this companion resource book complete with swatch libraries and tutorials on how to use the patterns. Another plus that I appreciated is his imaginative and often times funny names for the patterns like; Leaf Me Alone, Basket Case and Slipped Disks. It's no wonder that Von is one of the most successful and sought-after "illustrative designers" working today. Pick this up, you won't be disappointed.

Von Glitschka is batting a thousand with the release of his latest book Drip Dot Swirl. The book is chock full of beautiful, detailed patterns along with great examples of the patterns in use by talented designers and illustrators. Like Von's first book Crumble Crackle Burn it comes with a DVD inset with all of the patterns and instructional tutorials.

This book is an essential "must-have" addition to every graphic designer or illustrator's personal library.

Amazing patterns. Intriguing overlaps. Visually potent color schemes. This book is a great resource for designers and illustrators alike. The swatches come in adobe illustrator formats cs2 and cs3 which can easily be dropped in photoshop for layer patterning in print and web design work as well as illustration. Each piece is editable to create numerous variations to your hearts content. Light on the pocketbook, heavy on the use. Thanks Von!

Drip Dot Swirl has been inspirational to me in my design work. There are times when you finish an illustration and it really does not look finished. These patterns are the perfect finishing touch. It really helps to see what other designers are doing with them also. Hope there is more of that next time. I definitely would recommend this to make your designs more professional and finished.

Drip. Dot. Swirl. is another visual feast by Von Glistchka. The man is a design machine and this book adds another set of spices to a designers arsenal. It is visual eye candy. Every page a tasty treat to savor on your visual taste buds. I look forward to adding these spicy little tidbits to my recipes of design.

Drop.Dot.Swirl. is more than just a designer resource. As with all of Von's work, it's art in and of itself. Even the descriptions are inspiring: Dragon Hide - This scalable pattern breathes fire into your project, whether you're illustrating a dragon or just your mother-in-law.

Featured Artist works are spaced throughout, taking the pattern and applying it to their own style and methodology.

The patterns in the book and on the included DVD are beautiful, many are original designs and are quite nice.

Including them as Adobe Illustrator files on the DVD makes them very easy to scale, re-color or modify anyway you like for your own design projects, most professionals will have the Adobe Creative Suite so it's not a problem, if you don't have Illustrator you may be out of luck.

I was really hoping Von would explain his design process, throw out some tips and tricks on how to design repeating patterns.

You have heard the old saying, Give a man a fish and feed him for the day, teach a man to fish and feed him for life. Well Von gives us a boat load of wonderful patterns, but no clue on how he came up with them. You will have to figure that out yourself by taking apart the Illustrator files.

I loved the book and that was my only complaint.
