I am very happy to have purchased this gauge. I was making curtains, and the gauge made short work of turning up the hem and sides along with having them all uniform on each panel. I now realized how much of my guessing the turning up of edges was way off. It does get hot and moist when using steam, but worth it. So, watch your fingers! I think I will invest in the larger size now for draperies. My only complaint was the packaging for shipping. The gauge was only put into a manila envelope which got bent in transport. Luckily, the gauge was still usable. I informed Amazon of the poor packaging. Hope shipping will be rectified in the future. So often items are over packaged. This is one that should have been.

I love this guage. You can use it in a multitude of ways, iron over it, do both a straight hem and a curved one. I recommend for any level of sewing.

This is wonderful for hemming anything. Perfect every time. I use a lot on my homemade pillow cases. Wish this was around when my kids were little.

How have I ever lived without one of these my whole life! It's fabulous!! All my years of sewing and taking sewing classes I never heard about this gauge. I would see it in fabric stores and wonder what it was about, but I never knew how to use it until I took an online sewing class. That opened my eyes to the possibilities. I have now used the Ezy-Hem Gauge for several months and am blown away by it every time. One caution: because you use your iron to press the fabric while still on the gauge to set the hem measurement, be careful to NOT burn your fingers. The gauge is aluminum and heats up very quickly. Unfortunately it doesn't cool down as quickly as it heat up. So fingers beware!! Though if you touch the hot metal often enough you will probably develop asbestos fingers. Something to aspire to!

This is a great product--I find it very useful and it really saves time on pinning. It is easy to store, too.

It seemed impractical to use an iron with a piece of metal that will burn your fingers, but what else could you use to turn and press the hem into place? So I was really careful of my fingers when using the Ezy-Hem. Unfortunately, it's my iron I should have been careful of. I noticed that the soleplate of my iron was suddenly gummy with dark hard-to-remove streaks. It took awhile for me to recognize that the culprit was the Ezy-Hem. Rather than the lines and numbers being embossed onto the gauge, the Ezy-Hem is covered with a printed plastic film. Occasionally, the edge of your iron will slide beyond the edge of the fabric directly onto the Ezy-Hem. The plastic film melts unto my iron. That means that sections of the printed gauge lines and the numbers are gone--making those sections pretty much useless. If the markings and film stayed on the Ezy-Hem as stubbornly as they stay on my iron this would be an indestructible product.

After shopping for this item in several stores and in three cities, I had given up. This is a very high quality gauge and the company is very responsive.

If you are doing a lot of straight hemming, like drapes, this is a fast way to get through it.
