Does exactly what you'd expect!
Shannon
It's very easily bent as it is a very thin metal, but it can be bent back if you are very very careful with it.

Does exactly what you'd expect! Its plastic slider is nice and firm, so you don't have to worry about it sliding around. It's pretty lightweight and probably won't last exceedingly long, but for that price, that's fine. This has been invaluable for adding seam allowances and otherwise measuring tricky little things.

I thought this gadget was just for hemming, but it is useful in many sewing projects including quilting. Once you start using it you will find you want one in each sewing area.

We had one of these when I was growing up and it was indispensable. This one (same maker) is made of metal that bends when you look at it. Even worse is the slider part which is made of cheap pliable plastic. Because the plastic is so soft, it's uneven on the sides and not even straight. Yes, I can straighten it out, but then it just bends up again.

I was very disappointed in my purchase because I was expecting the wonderful tool they used to be.

I bought this ruler more for hemming my garments than anything else. Instead of using my tape measure that slips and slides, this ruler is locked into the correct measurement thereby making my hemming go much faster (and accurate). I used the ruler this morning when I had to make a seam for a lapped zipper. It was great. It's a good value for a small amount of money.

I bought this to replace an old (cheap) gauge I kept for years. I could hardly read the numbers and the thing was bent! What a great improvement this was for under $5!! I love it! It's easy to read and has cut out marks at each inch, making it even easier to read. It's very well made.

The item was exactly what I wanted and I was thrilled to receive it so promptly. I have already used it for hemming and seams, something I wish I had years ago!

My mother (nearing 80) still has hers. This was bought for my daughter to outfit her sewing box. Simple, accurate and easy to use.

Mom bought me my Dritz Sewing Gauge when I was 12-years-old! I had it until my infant son decided that it was the coolest thing ever to slide the scale on the inside to the point where he could take it off, so well, after 28 years of being tickled with this thing, I had to buy another. And, they're just the most awesome thing to have and outside of my sewing scissors, there isn't anything I've used more that this gauge. It's so easy to measure hems, stitches and whatever else you need. It's invaluable for quilting - just a very quick and handy guide for those 1/4" seam widths.

You really cannot sew well without this handy tool - bless the man who invented this gauge! HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!
