4.0 out of 5 stars Works Sometimes......But Cheap Enough And Worth It, February 11, 2011
This review is from: Dritz(R) No Sew Hemming Tape Reg Wt- 5/8 Inch W x 20yds (Misc. Supplies)
I'm unfortunately not one of those lucky fellows that can just go into a store and buy pants off the rack that fit. I always need to have the hems put up on any pants I buy. Since its not always as easy as one would think to get either your wife or sweetie to get the job done, or desirable to pay a tailor for such a simple task, this tape seem to be a worthy alternative. (No I don't know how to sew that well, and am too old to learn : ). My experience with a lot of pants of all kinds is that this tape is a hit or miss proposition. Mostly your luck with it being the kind of pants your talking about. Rugged pants like jeans and some denims don't hold the tape very well. They will stick easy enough at first, but tend to loosen up quickly, and never survive a wash. On the other hand lighter pants like khakis, cotton, and dress pants seem to hold the tape quite well. I have had many successful washings with the tape on these kind of pants before having to reapply. Despite this advice, this tape can sometimes seem to have a mind of its own. It will sometimes work on some jeans, and other times refuse to work on the usual lighter fair of fabric. My opinion is that despite its often random track record that the tape is cheap enough and and easy enough to use to make it worth it in having around. You can double the use of it on heavy jeans and get by, and its well worth it to have in the house even if its only temporary until the tailor in your home gets around to making it permanent. Recommended for its price, ease of use, and passable track record.

I'm very short ~ also short waisted. Most of my tops need to be hemmed. This tape is so easy to use. I can't believe I never tried it before now.
Try it. You won't be sorry.

The first time I used this I ironed it on for as long as the directions stated, which was about 30 seconds. Make sure you go back over it for about another 30 as it came apart easily the first time. If you go over it twice it seems to seal just fine.

This product was certainly easy to use... But did not stand up 1 day in my work pants. After the first wash it was as if I had never used it. I wouldn't recommend on work denim jeans.

I purchased this and Thermoweb Heat'n Bond Hem Iron-On Adhesive-3/8"X10 Yards in the attempt to temporarily hem some lightweight cotton pants. Despite following the directions carefully and repeating the steps the adhesive did not hold.

I've used this a couple times with seams that have come undone and I didn't want/have time to sew. It works initially, but it doesn't hold long. I was using this on thin dress slacks. I can expect a hem with one of these to hold a few washes at best. But it is a really fast cheap fix, just apply tape and iron. I wish it were a bit more durable though, it'd be nice if it lasted longer. I read peoples reviews when I bought it a while ago complaining it doesnt work on jeans - and I can't really imagine it would either. This tape is thinner then paper, and the adhesive on it is virtually nil. If it can barely hold up my slacks I don't think it's going to hold up jeans well.. I don't really thing it was supposed to either, so I don't necessarily fault them for that.

I bought curtains, not realizing they only came in one size. I cut the curtains to the right length for some windows in my apartment and had plenty of tape to do a double hem on both layers of the curtains. Extremely easy to use and bonds well.

I recieved a tape measure instead of the product I ordered. I did not see a place for this action.
