Love these for creating a physical barrier for sewing quilting seams, which need to be a scant 1/4". I place my favorite thin-lined ruler underneath the presser foot, lower the needle so the needle point is slightly to the right of the 1/4" line on the ruler, lower the presser foot to hold the ruler in place, make sure the ruler is running straight front-to-back, remove the paper backing from one of these strips, and place it on the machine bed by butting it up against the ruler. The foam is thicker than moleskin (which is what I used to use). My only gripe about these strips is the price, which is ridiculous for what they are.

I would not recommend these for very old vintage machines (such as the original black Singers), as the adhesive could mar the finish. They are fine for machines with plastic bodies.

It is very difficult to use, I had better results with painter's tape. It's hard to align and hard to remove.

As they stated in their information, these sewing guides do adhere, are removable and reusable. I wish they were not quite so thin, but they still work well.

Quilts are sewn with a 1/4" seam. If the seam is not exactly 1/4", the quilt does not go together well. Well, these are the bomb. You line up your needle 1/4" from the right edge of your lowered pressure foot and then press one of these down along the edge of the foot on the throat plate and toward yourself in a straight line. Viola! You feed the material using this as a guide and you have a perfect seam - consistently! I gave one to a quilter friend and she said it changed her life. It has mine, too! You can remove them and change the bobbin and they leave no sticky mess. Each one will last for several quilts. Wonderful product!

I bought this to help me in keeping accurate 1/4 inch seam allowance when sewing quilt blocks. I'm new to quilting & thought this would be handy.
