Purchased the All in One HDD2.5 3.5 Sata IDE HDD Hard Drive Twin Dock Docking Station USB 2.0 Docking station from Nikinstore (thru Amazon) No where in the advertisements for the docking station did it say the IDE slot won't work with Western Digital Drives. I had the dock about 2 1/2 months when I tried to use the IDE slot, it wouldn't work so I contacted Nikingstore , and they informed me that the had a 60 day return policy. While looking in the user's manual(very sparse), I noticed that the product has a 3 year Manufacturer's replacement warranty, the manufacturer says to return it to the selling dealer with the receipt for replacement. Nikingstore is reluctant to honor the warranty, they wanted me to return it to China. I did a Google search and found out that other people have had this same problem with the docking station. The internal plug is misaligned so it misses 2 pins when plugged in, the power plug is moveable to make a good alignment but not the cable plug. The Sata drive slot works fine as does the USB card readers.
If you only need the SATA slot it works fine but don't buy this Dock if you need the IDE slot too. This is a manufacturer's defect. As for Nikingstore, I won't be doing business with them anymore and suggest you avoid them too.

This unit claims to support all 2.5 and 3.5 IDE hard drives. It would not recognize any known good IDE drive I docked. Tried on both Windows 7 and XP, 64 bit and 32.
Check the internet message boards for other complaints. Wish I had before committing to buy this hunk of junk.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Had no problems with delivery or packaging. The IDE/SATA connections are a tight fit with no extra room for maneuverability. The one SATA hard drive I inserted fit fine with little effort in the SATA slot. One of my 2 IDE drives I inserted into the IDE slot would not fit and I ended up bending one of the IDE pins. The other IDE drive did fit but required more force than the SATA drive in the SATA slot. I was hoping when I purchased this docking station that any & every hard drive I inserted would fit and without much effort as long as I inserted them in their correct slot (IDE or SATA), which is what I have done.

Will kill your IDE (PATA) 3.5in Disks!
The problem is actually much worse! My own case ended with 2 IDE disk start to smoke and burn out as soon as I plug then in this dock. Read more

Good choice
This is an excellent product that works as it should. I've used it since day one with no problems. I've had it on my Mac and my PC and it works perfect on both.
