great price for these 'classics',

I paid more than twice this much for these movies when BCI put them out a few years back; I should have waited. This Mill Creek collection contains all the movies originally in BCI's Drive-In Cult Classics Vol. 1,2 & 3 plus their After Dark Thrillers collection. It is only missing 'French Quarter' with Bruce Davison off 'After Dark Thrillers' and adds 'Carnival of Crime' and 'Lurkers.'These movies span 1962-1990 and about half are in anamorphic widescreen. UPDATE: I give this set a 3 out of 5 for such a shoddy way they packaged it. "Pick Up" is on TWO discs here, really crappy way to sell a product. The content is good and it's not the end of the world, and yes "Pick Up" is the same movie not two different versions. The set I got DID have "French Quarter" in it, along with "Pick Up" on one side and "Click" and "Hot Target" on the other side of disc 12 (not listed on the box itself). It was missing Carnival of Crime and Lurkers which is listed on the box. Weird. Since I didn't order it for either of those movies and the ones it came with are newer and have sex in them I'm not complaining. FYI if you are ordering for any of those titles. The set looks like they took prior box sets and just packaged them together because they have different menu's or none at all. Also a few of these have a drive in experience menu with a couple of cartoons (I saw one Woody Woodpecker and one Popeye cartoon), along with the same drive in snack ad's for each disc with those extras. I'm happy I ordered it but if I have criticism it's the titles not listed properly on the box, and that the sleeves they come in are not labeled so I had to spend an hour going through each disc and labeling the sleeves with masking tape and a pen. The discs are labeled but you have to have better then 20/20 eyesight to read the ultra small font they used, I can hardly read it with my glasses on. In recap these are the films I got in case you are ordering this for a particular film: disc 1 "Best Friends/ Trip With The Teacher" & "Pick Up/ The Teacher" disc 2 "Sister In Law/ The Stepmother" & "Malibu High/ Cindy and Donna" disc 3 "They Saved Hitler's Brain & Madmen Of Mandoras" Disc 4 "The Devil's Hand (with Woody Woodpecker "Pantry Panic" cartoon)" & Bloodlust" disc 5 "The Creeping Terror" & "Terrified" disc 6 "Land Of The Minotaur" & "The Hearse" disc 7 "The Babysitter" & "Weekend With The Babysitter" disc 8 "Blood Mania" & "Pink Angels" disc 9 "Single Room Furnished" & "Van Nuys Blvd (with Popeye cartoon "Taxi -Turvy")" disc 10 "Pom Pom Girls (with drive in ad's as an extra)" & "Malibu Beach" disc 11 "Blue Money/ Double Exposure" & "Seperate Ways/ Night Club" disc 12 "Click/ Hot Target" & "Pick Up/ French Quarter" Although I got these films there is no guarantee you will get the same so be prepared for surprises. Finally I did order this as a new set from Amazon not a used set so there is no chance the discs got mixed up that way. Could I return it to Amazon, of course but French Quarter looks like a good flick so it's OK not to get Carnival of Crime and Lurkers. But it doesn't deserve a 5 star when you don't get the films it's advertized as.

I noticed there had been three individual sets of drive in classics recently, then I noticed some of the same artwork on this 32 movie set pretty much covering the other three sets, and better yet I got it at half price sale one day. Oh sure, such movies that I believe were on the number two of the individual sets, like "They Saved Hitlers' Brain", wasn't interested in having a third or fourth copy of that anyway. Transfers seems pretty good for most of them, I haven't watched all of them, they probably were movies that could have been shown at drive ins back in the day. 12 disc set on double sided discs in black paper sleeves, and no playability problems, etc.Come to find out, there was a company called bci, which has been going out of business and splitting up with a partner company, mill creek bought alot of their archive, and they once put these out, and there are some more that bci had put out that is no longer in print, but mill creek will likely or already has released them, great, I will be watching. I also recommend "Savage Cinema" by mill creek, worth watching those, and "Cult Terror Cinema" from mill creek, along with "20 Cult Classics" that included all the great oldie movies like reefer madness/cocaine fiends/ she should have said no!, etc, ha, those are real cheap and good entertainment as well and less than ten bucks.
