From the Author

The idea for "Drive-In Deluxe" sizzled to life a short while after the publication of "The American Drive-In" (my first best-selling book about curb service dining). Since I had so many great photographs and so much cool memorabilia left over from the first project, I thought, why not do another book? I decided to focus this version on tasty images--full-color, saturated photographs depicting flamboyant carhops, favorite foods, amazing architecture, and what the future holds for roadside food. Check it out: I'm sure that even the hungriest fan of roadside food will pull out of the parking lot satisfied!

ANOTHER OF MICHAEL WITZELS VERY ENTERTAINING BOOKS THAT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.I HAVE SEVERAL OF HIS VOLUMES AND THIS ONE IS RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE REST. ANOTHER NICE STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE.
