I bought this to use as a laptop desk for sitting at the sofa and I couldn't be happier. It's also great for eating in front of the TV, which is admittedly a bad habit. I haven't tried to use it in bed, but I'm sure it's great for that too, assuming your bed isn't too tall.
The ability to adjust the height and angle makes for a highly ergonomic fit. This table accommodates and provides stable support for my heavy, 17" gaming laptop and still has room for a fat wrist rest and full-sized mouse pad for my wireless mouse. While its looks could be sexier (in a perfect world, the tray would be made of wood, metal or frosted glass instead of plastic), it WAS dsigned as a medical aid, and its functionality could not be better. At some point I may take some plastic spray paint to the tray top, but it's not truly offensive looking so I haven't bothered at this time.
In a nutshell, I highly recommend.

The table is sturdy and nicely adjustable, and the worktop size is adequate for laptop and notebook. However, I found that the lack of extension on the table top from the support made much of the worktop unusable unless you can balance yourself right on the edge of the bed. The maximum height is also barely enough to clear a deep mattress and boxspring on a frame. Getting in and out of bed on your own with this desk is also very difficult, it doesn't just swing away so you have to lean out to roll it aside as you're working to get up. On carpet, it takes some effort to get it out of the way especially if you're 8 months pregnant. I also purchased an AirDesk and although it provides a lot less work space, I really like that it's designed for a laptop, can be adjusted very high (designed for sitting or standing), and can just swing away effortlessly.

I was really excited to get this table but, when it came it had no instructions and no packing materials. The side long bar could not go down into the sleeve.
