5.0 out of 5 stars Transport Chair
We used this chair to give my mother-in-law a ground level tour of the strip in Las Vegas. It made the trip possible. There is no way she would have made it with her walker. Mono-rail, streets, elevators, it worked perfect in every way but one, it wouldn't stop her complaining about anything and everythng.

3.0 out of 5 stars Light weight...yet...
My purpose was to ferry my mother for a whole lot of travel. The wheelchair is certainly lightweight, folds and sits in the back of my car, has wheel-locking system.

The fli-side is the ease of use - its a little difficult when you are taking someone of about 180lbs - I felt it was easier to push with a bigger (full) wheels than this wheelchair with smaller...

4.0 out of 5 stars Transport Chair, February 18, 2007

This transport chair is excellent. Very light weight, easy to push, easy to fold away, easy to clean. It is nice looking (blue color)and seat is a good size and comfortable. The only negative (reason I gave it a 4) is the foot rests. When you do not use them and push them off to the side they have a tendancy to move. If there was a clip to hold them in place out of the way that would eliminate that problem. Also would have been nice to have a place for a name tag on the back.
Other than those very minor things this chair is EXCELLENT and would highly recomend it. Also the price beat Sam's club by thirty dollars and it was delivered within a week. Amazon and Drive Medical Rocks!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fly-Weight Transport Chair, November 3, 2006

I have found this item to be everything it said it would be. It is light weight. It fits in the truck of a Toyota Corolla. It is comfortable for the user. It is not a wheelchair that the user can push himself (all wheels are small), but it is easy to push. I love it.

Bottomline - if you are looking at using this for a shor-term, mostly for travel, its good. I wouldn't advise for long-term.

I bought this for my father-in-law who had a stroke this past summer at sixty eight years old. My mother-in-law at sixty seven, doesn't have a lot of arm and shoulder strength and cannot wield a full-size wheelchair around and constantly pull it in and out of the trunk of their toyota camry.

The light weight of this chair works great for short trips to appointments. I wouldn't recommend it for a long day shopping at the mall however. It's not as easy to use as a full-size standard wheelchair. This is a great chair for shorter trips and appointments to make transferring easier to manage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal All Around, August 15, 2007

A great product for a great prce! I've tried lugging full weight wheelchairs around, and that's difficult. This one is pretty light weight, yet well built. There seem to be cheaper models out there that look like they are built cheaper, but this one seems to be well built for a great low price. Wish list: I wish the brakes worked better and I wish the swing out foot pads locked in the full out position (folded against the sides of the chair). They do come off easy and since they swing around losely (When not locked in the user position), you should take them off when transporting the chair, like in the trunk of a car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Purchase, May 15, 2007
This review is from: Drive Medical FW19BL Fly-Weight Transport Chair, 19 Inch, Blue (Health and Beauty)
I absolutely LOVE this transport chair! It's easy to fold/unfold; lightweight enough to lift; it fits in the backseat of the car and is easy to push. I also like that it has a seat belt. It enables me to take my 93-yr young Mom w/me into the stores, which I couldn't do before as she couldn't do much walking w/her walker. I love all that it has to offer; it's an excellent value for the price & I was delightfully pleased when I received this product. If you are considering purchasing this item, I would highly recommend it; you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Transport chair, January 3, 2007
This review is from: Drive Medical FW19BL Fly-Weight Transport Chair, 19 Inch, Blue (Health and Beauty)
This transport chair exceeded my expectations. It is very light at 19 pounds, durable, and attractive without the large side wheels. The price was affordable and has been very helpful assisting my 88 year old mother. I am more than pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone who would normally purchase or use a regular wheelchair.

Someone recommended the Drive fly-lite wheelchair (we purchased the fly-weight wheelchair which was slightly less expensive), but they paid over $300 in a local medical supply store; we paid about $125 at Amazon. This is a well built, fits in smaller trunks as even the handles fold, and is light weight. We use to lug a heavy wheelchair around, and this has made bringing a wheelchair a breeze. The doctor's office was so impressed with it, and especially the price, they plan to purchase one through Amazon also. If you need a light weight wheelchair, this is the one to purchase. I had also called Drive to ask the difference between the fly-lite and fly-weight wheelchairs, and the main thing seemed to be this has four larger size wheels, which is easier to push over rough surfaces - yet was $50 less expensive. Highly recommend purshasing, and stop killing your back carrying/lifting a heavy wheelchair.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product, November 18, 2006
This review is from: Drive Medical FW19BL Fly-Weight Transport Chair, 19 Inch, Blue (Health and Beauty)
Lightweight, easy to transport, easy to put together. Just remember, the person in the chair cannot maneuver on their own. Someone must be able to push. But what a great product!
