The Big Wigs at FOX should be ashamed,
By
This review is from: Drive (The Complete Series) (Amazon Instant Video)
Drive was too good to be true. The characters had so much potential, and the plot was fascinating. Killed before it even aired - how else do you explain only filming 6 out of 13 episodes - and then expected to find an audience in 2 weeks FOX went out of its way to destroy what could have been the next LOST.
I even sat through and watched the show live, commercials and all, and I only do that for great television. I just hope we do get those last two episodes. If you go to Tim Minear's website www.timminear.net, you can download the complete scripts for free.

Best New Show of 2007,
By
This review is from: Drive (The Complete Series) (Amazon Instant Video)
Fox did an excellent job promoting "Drive" by creating an excitement for the show that lived up to its hype. After we're hooked, and I mean, talk-about-for-days, can't-wait-to-see-the-next-episode kind of hooked, what does Fox do? Cancels the show. After four episodes that delivered on the promise of a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat, fresh, original show. Add a great script and cast - Nathan Fillion in another role worthy of his talent - and "Drive" should have been elevated to the best new show of the year. We're looking forward to this summer, when we can watch the remaining episodes.

My favorite new show!,

I'm not particularly interested in cars or racing, so it took me by surprise how quickly I grew to love Drive. How did this happen? Because at its core, Drive is not about driving fast: it's about people. It's about complex characters, and the mysterious race they are participating in serves as an engrossing way to explore and develop those characters.
The action is swift and wide-ranging, and the performances and stories are excellent. Even characters who seem shallow and uninteresting at the beginning of the story quickly grab your attention. This is far from a made-for-tv version of The Fast and the Furious; it's a compelling mystery and character drama. The mystery and the constant unfolding of backstories makes me want to draw comparisons to Lost, but Drive has what Lost never gave me: characters I actually like and care about. Also absent is Lost's infuriating tendancy to create elaborate mysteries without ever explaining them. No review would be complete without mentioning the spectacular work of Firefly's Nathan Fillion as Alex Tully. He brings such an intensity and depth to the character that it's impossible not to fall in love with Tully, and be riveted to the screen as we learn more about his unexpected past. He brings the character alive so fully that one can't help but live the story through his eyes, feel what he feels, and care intensely about what happens next in his suddenly torn-apart life. Drive has been cancelled, but Fox plans to air the remaining two episodes sometime this summer. If you download this show and fall in love with it as I did, try to get everyone you know to tune into those two episodes.....who knows what might happen if the ratings go through the roof?

Another Awesome Show From Tim Minear,
By
This review is from: Drive (The Complete Series) (Amazon Instant Video)
I know this show will probably be cancelled just like Firefly and Wonderfalls but Tim Minear has done it again. What a fun show to watch and the action just keeps me on the edge of my seat. I know it's an hour long show but it feel like it goes by way too quickly. Excellent television from the FOX network that will most likely be cancelled as per usual.
Nathan Fillian is so underrated and is outstanding as always in this breath of fresh air of a show. Great job on this wonderful television show.

Can't believe it's cancelled,
This review is from: Drive (The Complete Series) (Amazon Instant Video)
When I first saw the previews for Drive, I thought it would be a great show, and I was right. The show may be a scripted version of a reality show, but the plot and the acting are just unbelieveable. I felt that this show would go on for quite a while and keep viewers guessing at the end of every episode, right?
Wrong. After this episode (No Turning Back), Fox decided to cancel the series due to the fact that they didn't get the ratings they wanted. Does that announcement upset me? Yes, it does, but not to the point where I would throw a fit, but just to the fact that I will never know who will win the race. The final two produced episodes will be shown later this summer, most likely online. Even though Drive ran out of gas just as it pulled out, it is still an amazing and unpredictable series. Check out this show, but don't get too involved, you'll never know the winner. This is why I give this show 5 out of 5 stars.

A Plea and comment From a Drive Fan, Fox!,

This is the biggest mistake fox has ever done not letting a show grow and develop is just plain stupid. what happened to the days when you let a show grow and then see if it was'nt working than cancel it ? this show completely rocks and the cast is awsome i hope fox give this show a chance because canceling after 4 episodes is just wrong and it really did'nt give the public a chance to see it there is alot more tred to those tires in terms of the stories they could come with So Please fox give it a chance this could be your Company(Lost) aka hit show on your hands and i love the stunts. i have'nt seen a show this much fun in long time. so please keep it.
Highly Recommended Series. Update: I just watched the last two episodes and i'm going is that it? it did'nt resolve anything i hope fox gets some sense and makes a few more because the ending sucked , because it really was'nt any ending it only geared up for another one to follow , so the people at fox tv delevopment really need to get a clue and keep this show, because it was beginning to be a fun show to watch. in my mind this is'nt a full season sorry. UPDATE request: Hey Fox why not make a Drive movie to tie everything together. Just a thought from a fan.

I was intrigued when I saw the previews for this show and then I found out that it also is developed by Tim Minear (Angel, Firefly) and stars Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Slither). I've seen the first three episodes and I am hooked. If you are a fan of Angel, Firefly, Amazing Race, Cannonball, Cannonball Run, or Midnight Madness, you must watch this show. It has action, drama, suspense, exciting car chases, and a refreshing humor that you have troubling finding in many of the television dramas today. The premise is incredibly interesting and the show is well acted.
My only problem with the show is that Fox will cancel it before it hits its stride. Oh well, I will enjoy it as I go.

This is a solid show, presenting a compelling situation that anyone could picture happening to them. So it has a clever premise. Then ... the editting is crisp and clean, introducing characters and laying the framework for the story while also displaying a multitude of different relationships. Lastly, convincing well protrayed roles presented clearly.
All this adds up to a great show .... soon to be cancelled by TV execs.

I Still would like a DVD release.,

This review is from: Drive (The Complete Series) (Amazon Instant Video)
I just bought all four eps. that are here and I will enjoy having them. But I still would like to see a DVD release and/or the other eps. here.
This is still my favorite show of the last few years and wish it was given a chance to continue and not be ended before it got even better then it already was. Drive was a non-stop rush from the time of "Mainland Go" and never let up from there. Jason R. Burns |
