This review is from: Driven to Perform: Risk-Aware Performance Management From Strategy Through Execution (Paperback)
This book by the global knowledge leaders in the strategic performance management domain is absolutely a must-read for all managers, directors, and executives trying to implement strategic planning in their departments, organizations, or companies. While the book drives towards education about how various current and future technology solutions can automate and enable effective business planning and strategy management, it more importantly educates the reader about the necessary and pragmatic workflow, dissemination and roll-up of information, objectives, goals, and requirements to implement performance driven strategy management in any company. Readers will learn more about what is needed to implement performance driven strategy execution from this book than almost any other source. Readers will also walk away from this book with department by department understandings of strategy execution focus areas and how solution-focused technology can effectively and efficiently enable transparency, quantitative and qualitative predictability, and performance-driven execution from tactical operations to corporate-wide planning levels. Get it. Read it. Learn from it. Embrace it!

A comprehensive discussion of performance management,
By Robert C. (CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Driven to Perform: Risk-Aware Performance Management From Strategy Through Execution (Paperback)
This is a nice book with a balanced approach to (1) the introduction to the general performance management concepts/topics such as the evolution of PM, the lifecycle, maturity model, relations with BI and risks management, and (2) the more specific discussions of performance management in all value chain areas, such as Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain. It also used case studies to illustrate how performance management can be applied in various business situations.
It's a thick book (700+ pages!), but a comprehensive one that can be used either for serious study of the performance management topics, or as a good reference.

Great book on BI and Analytics,
By Silicon Valley Reader "Silicon Valley Reader" (Silicon Valley, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Driven to Perform: Risk-Aware Performance Management From Strategy Through Execution (Paperback)
All BI and Analytics should be oriented towards improving performance (or compliance reporting, where mandated by law). This book is the first book I've seen that really addresses how to achieve better performance through the insight available using BI. It looks at every function in the enterprise (IT, Sales, Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, Service, R&D, and Procurement) and demonstrates how to use analytics to improve performance. It's a thick book, and it is VERY deep. Good read, well-written, very information-rich, and very insight-rich. Highly recommended.
