Book Description

October 2000
Doctor Cheney Duvall is one of inspirational fiction’s most beloved characters, known for all of her adventures, struggles, successes, and romances.

Now Gilbert and Lynn Morris bring the series to New York in Driven With the Wind. Here, wedding bells are poised to chime for their friends…but will they?

During the month-long journey, Shiloh asks Cheney to be his bride. It is the day she both feared and anticipated. Her answer, however, can only be a refusal. Shiloh is not a believer, and he soon grows bitter over her rejection. Cheney, meanwhile, is devastated that she has allowed herself to fall so fully in love with him.

When they arrive in New York, the couple discovers that their friends are having second thoughts about their own marriage. Like Cheney and Shiloh, they struggle by frail human means to solve their problems. A revengeful plan that could ruin Cheney’s reputation and medical practice is the final trial that drives them into the arms of the Lord.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long awaited sequel to Island of the Innocent, November 16, 2000

This review is from: Driven with the Wind (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #8) (Paperback)
Giving readers a rest from the thrills of the action/adventure oriented Island of the Innocent, Gilbert and Lynn Morris take Driven With the Wind into more emotionally charged territory.

Shiloh Irons-Winslow and Cheney Duvall battle with their differences as they try to find a way to make a more lasting relationship of their three-year-old friendship.

Devlin Buchanan's past comes back to haunt him just as happiness with Victoria DeLancie seems within his grasp.

And Bain Winslow, everyone's favorite villian, is back. But this time Bain escapes his former clichéd character and emerges in a strong supporting role.

Set at a slower pace than previous books in the series, Driven With the Wind never the less holds the reader's attention while carefully solidifying and fine tuning the characters of the cast. Driven With the Wind delivers a satisfying finale to the first part of the Cheney Duvall series and lays a promising groundwork for the many books that we all hope will come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book Ever, November 16, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Driven with the Wind (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #8) (Paperback)
I am a long time reader of the Cheney Duvall books. I read this one six times in one weekend. It is the best yet. It has much more about Cheney and Shiloh's relashionship than the others, but still has it's fair share of thrilling adventure. I won't ruin it for you but I will say that I loved the first twenty pages, and the last 100 pages, but the middle of the book made me want to pull my hair out. You get so frustrated with Cheney and Shiloh, and Dev and Victoria. There is a lot more about Dev and Victoia and Dev's past in this book. I totally feel in love with this book and know you will to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheney Duvall, MD #8, November 3, 2000

This review is from: Driven with the Wind (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #8) (Paperback)
Since Book #7 came out in 1998, I had been waiting impatiently for this book, so when it finally came throught the mail, I was estatic, and proceeded to devour it in one evening. After waiting two years for it, I found that it was well worth the anticipation. After Island of the Innocent, I wasn't sure if the characters' horrifying situations could be surpassed, but Lynn and Gilbert Morris seem to have done it. Many times, I fought my desire to read the final page, just to ensure that everything turns out alright, because you never know. I did manage to leave the ending for the end though, and it was well worth it. Although there are a few areas that could have been described in greater detail(not that I could have done a better job), it was very well written, and an excellent job was done of bringing back characters previously encountered. And if you have never before read any of the Cheney Duvall series, you won't be at a loss, the instances in which they were seen before are recapped (I suppose that this helps those of us who haven't read the others in a while too.) Anyway, it was a wonderful book and already I find myself waiting impatiently for the next. Enjoy!
