Book Description

A standalone novella introducing a new side of Half Moon Hollow—featuring a freewheeling courier and the stuffy vampire she has to transport.

Miranda Puckett has failed at every job she’s ever had. Her mother just wants her to come home, join the family law firm, and settle down with Jason, the perfect lawyer boyfriend. But when Jason turns out to be a lying cheater, Miranda seizes on a job that gets her out of town: long-distance vampire transportation. Her first assignment is to drive vampire Collin Sutherland from Washington to sleepy Half Moon Hollow without incident—no small feat for a woman whom trouble seems to follow like a faithful hound dog! And she has to do it without letting her passenger—the most persnickety, stuffy, devastatingly handsome vamp she’s ever met—drive her crazy. As she and Collin find disaster on the roads, they also find an undeniable spark between them.  Could Miranda have found the perfect job and the perfect guy for her?

5.0 out of 5 stars No Problems February 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found no problems with the pacing of this book. It is slow to build but it is worth it in the long run. The characters are well fleshed out considering the length of the novella. I loved the ending since we got to revisit some of the Vampires that we have met along the way.

Even though this is a novella, you can plainly see that the characters grow along the way. I would call this a "confusion driven plot", but is also relationship driven since one of the reasons Miranda is taking this trip is to find out if she should break-up with her idiot fiance Jason. Since the story revolves around the problems Miranda and Collin encounter along the way on a cross country trip Miranda is chauffeuring this is where the 'confusion' comes in as they encounter many, many problems (funny) along the way. Watch for the "breasts" scene...I almost wet myself laughing so hard.

I liked how Collin let his hair down so to speak as the trip progressed and I found it interesting to learn just why he was the tight butt way he was.

For $1.99 plus tax you can't go wrong, since this was just a tad longer than the usual novella. You won't need it to fill in the series, but it wouldn't hurt!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! January 4, 2012
By Melissa
Format:Audible Audio Edition
I would highly recommend listening to this in a private area...because people are going to think you're nuts when you snort and giggle for five hours straight.

And just to be safe, hit pause before you take a big swig of diet soda. Trust me on this.

I've read everything Molly Harper, she's one of only two authors I watch release dates for. I don't know how she manages to keep the humor going non-stop, or to come up with situations like, well, I'm not going to spoil it for you, just read it.

The narrator is perfect. If I could give this book more stars, I would. Fantastic!

4.0 out of 5 stars From Great to Okay-- December 28, 2011
By SJ
Format:Audible Audio Edition
Great beginning....good middle....but fizzled out quite a bit by the end. I am glad I took a chance on this one just for the beginning as it was so darn funny I couldn't help laughing out loud. Added to that, the heroine was a lovable, fun misfit with a can-do attitude that I just couldn't help liking. The narrator was absolutely perfect for her...However, she was not perfect for the hero as she sounded like a child trying to do a whispery male voice. A little lame, a little icky.

The middle moved along without as much humor, but the story still kept my interest as I wanted to know that even with all the crazy bumps, the heroine's life turned out well for her. Unfortunately , as the end neared the humor was almost nil and the story really began to drag and I began to lose interest. So much so in fact, that I caught my mind wandering. Really wished it had kept the same momentum throughout.
