Droid's first album is great. Their drummer notably is amazing. My first listen through, I didn't care for the vocals but absoluetely loved the drumming. However, after a few more listens the vocals grew on me and I find them to complement the rest of Droid quite well. I can't recall many if any guitar solos(not a good or bad thing) but the guitar work is solid as well.

My favorite songs on this album are the first four. However, each song is good and I never have the urge to skip tracks. My only qualm is I wish they utilized Deftone's Chino Moreno amazing voice better. He mainly just screams, but him singing more than a few lines would have been nice.

It's hard to compare this band directly to other bands I listen to. The album isn't very melodic, there are no guitar solos, and they don't growl. They're closest to DevilDriver which is no suprise as they are a groove metal band as well.

The album is fast, powerful, full of energy, and original. The lyrics are understandable(unlike many metal bands) which is a plus in my book. However, the vocals at the same time are not clean which is another plus. If you like Groove Metal or metal in general you will love this album. I find myself coming back to it for a listen time and time again no matter how many new albums I buy.

This album is addictive...

Droid rocks and makes other music...well it makes other music seem pointless. Good bye to all the "boo-hoo feel sorry for myself" junk, good bye to the "she's gone" bunk, "oh boo-hoo I just got out of rehab and 2 million people should feel sorry for me cause I am so rich" yuckies...

Relentless metal...

No remorse, no regret, the way we were taught by the original "M.U.Y.A." kings before they lost their way.

There are not many left who bust out the metal the way it should be dealt...Thanks Droid for the brutal attack that leaves me feeling spent and wanting more every time I listen.

From beginning to end, this album doesn't let up. The sound is so crushingly heavy and violent, it sounds like it was forged in a heavy machine factory. The songs have a headbangin' groove but each chugging riff and drum beat is unbelievably thunderous and destructive, as if each chord was crashed down with a sledgehammer. There are a lot of hardcore/metal bands who certainly bring the pain, but this is a rage and bludgeoning effect that I have rarely experienced. No melodic interludes, yet no cliche breakdowns either- these guys are simply gratuitous heaviness.

Imagine an album comprised entirely of the uber-heavy parts of early Between the Buried and Me with Meshuggah's vocalist and add a generous dose of Lamb of God's furious grooves and you have an idea what Droid is like. This is the 800 pound gorilla that rocks wherever it wants.
