Though an enjoyable read, this book is not as strong in plot and characterization as her newer books. What I did find disappointing was that at the beginning of the book Kelly had created a very strong female character, but by the end of the book she becomes a simpering useless drege. The book reads as a compilation of two shaky stories cobbled together onto a single plot line. Yes, I realize this is a book for teens, however, good story-telling is good story-telling.
