I bought my first Droll Yankee feeder at a local Wild Birds Unlimited franchise store, and I've been sold on the brand ever since. All of the Droll Yankee feeders are sturdy, attractive and functional. I moved into a new home about 6 months ago and currently the main feeder in my backyard is this 6-port Droll Yankee feeder; the birds love it since there's enough room for six of them to feed comfortably.

While you're buying Droll Yankee, be sure to get one of their peanut feeders as well. Here in South Texas, we attract tufted titmice and scrub jays, among other species, with our peanut feeder.

I bought this model in a feed mill in rural Sussex County, NJ in the early 1970's, and have used this same EXACT feeder year-round for more than 30 years!

For nearly 2 decades in the wild West Virginia mountains it has hung in a tree and been filled almost daily.

It has never been damaged, after very heavy use (and abuse) by many species---mostly birds---but also squirrels (Gray, Red, Fox and Flying), deer, and for the past several years numerous bears regularly pull or shake it off the tree, and roll and drag it around on the ground.

Believe me---it's virtually indestructible!!

I have had many other feeders (by other manufacturers as well as home-made) over the years---the Yankee is the only one totally intact. It may not hold a ton of seed, but it certainly HOLDS UP better than all the rest.

I'd give it a 10-star rating if I could!

This is a classic tube feeder with incredibly sturdy construction and a limited lifetime warranty. How can you go wrong? I have two, one with sunflower and one with safflower seed. A great example of making a superior product using simplicity in design, craftsmanship, and strong materials. And, as with all Droll Yankees feeders, it is MADE IN THE USA.

I ordered a second Droll Yankees seed feeder because I was so happy with the first one, and it appeared identical to the one I already had in the website photo. However, the bottom two feeder ports on the new feeder are blocked by a plastic insert, which prevents seeds from getting to them, rendering the two bottom ports and their perch pegs useless to the birds. Not a good redesign idea, and I wonder if it was a manufacturing error on this particular feeder?

Excellent product. Have owned one for 25 years & it still is in great shape. I purchased a second one so i could have two of them as the number of visitors to my one feeder has increased dramatically. Worth every penny of the cost. Extremely durable.

We've owned this feeder for 8 years. It hangs from a pole off our deck where we can see if from our kitchen table. The kids love watching the cardinals, robins, tit mouse, chickadees, and the occasional woodpecker that come in to feed. I am impressed at how long the feeder has held up without any damage beyond expected wear and weathering. It even fell from a height of 10 feet to the dirt ground when a pesky squirrel dislodged the squirrel cage one day. The feeder still works. We refill it about every other week to keep the songbirds fed. It's relatively easy to fill but we bought a large, plastic funnel to make it easier to pour bird feed into it. I would buy another if this one ever breaks.

We added a squirrel cage that encloses the feeder because we lost about 3-4 feeders of food due to squirrels getting into it while it hung off our deck. The squirrel cage fit perfectly and is made of metal wire -- very durable. I do not recall where we got the cage but I think it was a from a big box hardware store.

This feeder is a simple classic in the pewter finish, and is easy to fill and clean.

I've put it outside of my den window, filled with Kaytee Fruit and Nut Mix, and seen Tufted Titmouse, Black-Capped Chickadees, and American Goldfinch for the first time! It really has added so much pleasure to the afternoons here. I did add the Droll Yankee Omni Seed Tray to catch seed and provide another perch.

This a good feeder but my local birds seem to like a slightly larger feeder. Don't know if that's local or general, but when I found my older, larger feeder (held for ransom by a racoon), my daily feeder cound went up. If I was in the market for yet another feeder I'd opt for one with great capacity.

My parents always had a bird feeder outside our front window when I was growing up, so I've got fond memories of bird watching as a kid. I have a space outside my home where I decided to put a 4' shepherd hook and a feeder, but feeders at Lowe's and Home Depot were either small and flimsy or huge and expensive. I ordered this feeder from Amazon after looking at Droll Yankees feeders in a nearby garden center, and after a couple weeks I'm very happy with it. The feeder appears to be sturdy (if not, there's a lifetime guarantee!), birds started using it within a day, and I like the simple, classic appearance.

I am a firm supporter of the well-made Droll Yankee feeders - this being the third one I own. They last for many years and are impervious to squirrels' destruction. This one holds one pound of seed and I fill it almost daily.
