Droll Yankees DCH Adjustable Deck Clamp & 16-Inch Hanger Arm

For a bird feeder and over a 3.75 in deck railing that you don't want to screw into, this is the only product I have found that can do the job. There are some downsides (reason for the 3 *s:

- More expensive than most other deck clamps available.
- Don't hope to put anything other than a bird feeder on it. Plants are just too heavy for the clamp. It might help to use the optional screw to secure the pole, but if I wanted to screw something into my deck, I wouldn't have bought a clamp!
- Hook section attaches onto straight pole and can turn in a strong wind.

I don't know if I can recommend this product, but if you have no other options (like me), it might be your best bet.

I've had one for over three years. It's just as good as new. It is pricey, but worth it in the long run. I'm getting another one because the raccoons broke my cheaper deck hanger for my second feeder. If assembled properly, it will NOT spin in the wind. I did put one screw into the deck railing to attach it more securely. I use it with the Brome 1015 Squirrel Buster Classic and the squirrels and raccoons have never been able to eat from that feeder.

I like this one. Looks nice and it will really hold onto the deck. Can be used for bird feeders, hanging plants. Just about everything and it is very sturdy.

I would not trust this in a windy environment without an extra screw into the deck rail.

Sturdy, easy to set-up. I put oil on the lower section after the squirrels figured out they could shimmy up & get to the feeder.

I have two of these and they work great. Well made and sturdy. I would recommend this item to anyone. I would however suggest you check your local retailers as you may be able to get them for less. Sad but true they seem to jack up the price online, which really disappoints me as I am a faithful Amazon shopper.

This adjustable deck clamp and pole were just what I was looking for. Heavy duty and easy to install. I bought the the double mount with another hanger so I could hang two feeders. With both feeders which hold 5 lbs. of seed there is no bending or swaying in the wind.The heavy grade steel is power coated so it should remain rust free for years.

Product is as expected. We needed a stronger Deck Clamp for our Yankee Flipper Bird Feeder. The Flipper works great. However, we have had the deck clamp and feeder fall from our deck railing because the hanger was not strong enough. The Droll Yankee Clamp will work great for may years. We're very pleased with it.

I have a thicker than normal hand rail on my deck and have been searching for a month to find something fully adjustable that would also keep the feeder above the deck rail. SEARCH NO MORE!!!!! As you can see in the photos, this keeps a normal feeder well above the railing and looks pretty decent. I have not seen it in a strong wind yet, but if I have any problems, I will update this review. Although the other review said it mounts to a straight pole, there is a divot in the hook arm and a groove in the pole to prevent it from swinging more the 20 degrees in either direction. If this doesn't work, I can always use a little JB Weld ;-) So far, an exceptional product!!!

I use this hook off of the railing of my deck, and it suits me perfectly. It holds my feeder easily, allowing the birds to get to the seed without having to worry about the squirrels getting to everything first
