The birds are very pleased with the Droll Yankees 23" Bird Feeder. They have six spots to perch and eat the seed with ease.

The clear container makes it easy to know when it is time to add more seed. And the design makes it very easy to refill. Plus with its cylinderal shape you do not have to worry about the birds getting sick from fecal matter.

An excellent prduct... one in which I would highly recommend.

have owned this feeder for 3 years and came back to buy another for my elderly mom. Seed stays dry, and feeder attracts the smaller birds like goldfinches. It's a great size for holding mixed seed...I fill mine with a 50/50 mix of mixed seed and the more expensive thistle seed and the birds really go for this mix. Easy to fill, and the plastic tube has not yet discolored or darkened, which the less expensive tube feeders will do.

I was looking for a bird feeder that I did not have to fill all the time. The Droll Yankees reputation along with the size of this feeder made it a no brainer. Love the feeder and so do the birds.

I've tried other brands of bird feeders and they just don't hold up like Droll Yankee. Especially like the larger size of this one, and it's attracted great birds!

This feeder just endured one of the worst winters we have had in Southern New England in years, and it is in excellent condition. I could see as soon as I removed it from the box that it is a high quality product. It is well designed, sturdy, and crafted with durable materials. It will hold any type of seed. I used it for a no waste mixed seed product as well as black oil sunflower seeds. It is easy to fill and easy to to clean. The birds seem equally happy with it, and a wide variety of birds visit it! I did purchase some accessories for it: a seed tray to reduce waste in the winter and give the larger birds, like cardinals, something to perch on, and also a weather dome. The feeder will accommodate these additions and the seed catcher tray is easily removed for cleaning. I would definitely recommend the product and plan to purchase more Droll Yankee feeders. The difference in quality between the Droll Yankee feeders and the "flimsy" feeders that don't hold up for more than a year or two make them well worth the investment.

Having bought a number of bird feeders over the years, the Droll Yankee feeders are the best. I bought this model recently and am very happy with my purchase. Yes, it's a little more expensive that some other brands but you will save money in the long run. These will last longer and provide less hassle since the construction is very good. While I wouldn't consider this item squirrel proof, it does stand up to the abuse that a squirrel can inflict on a feeder. You might lose some seed, but the feeder won't be permanently destroyed.

Droll Yankees does make some very fine feeders. I have purchased 4 of them of different varieties and all four are top notch. This feeder is very easy to fill and fairly easy to clean. The clear plastic cylinder makes the feed level a cinch to observe. The birds love this feeder and landed on it within a minute of the time I hung it on a pole. Being made in the USA is a definite plus. I recommend Droll bird feeders without any reservations. I want to emphasize that I recommend the Droll Yankees FEEDERS only and not the lame Droll Yankees accessories.

I really like this feeder, it's east to fill and is super sturdy having been dropped a few feet and coming out ok. I also purchased the maroon version of this feeder which had the plastic part wooble from the base on 2 seperate units -- returned both back to amazon hassle free. I'm not sure if you can find a better feeder for the price. I've seen these run for $60 in the local home and garden. It's a bargain for $35 plus or minus.

I am very impressed with this product. It is a great size for all the birds that come to my apartment patio because I don't have to refill it every day. I also like how substantial and sturdy the feeder is and how simple it is to clean. I have had this feeder for a couple months now and have been impressed that the color of the tube is not turning yellow but staying clear. The only downside to this feeder that I noticed is that the landing posts are too short for the birds to land on to get bird seed. When I first hung this feeder up, birds were coming to the yard, but they weren't landing on the feeder. I decided to watch a while and see if I could figure out why. After a little while, I saw that birds were trying to land on the feeder but the landing posts where too short for them and they weren't able to stay perched for more than a few seconds. To solve this problem, I decided to take a few clear straws (like from a fast food restaurant) and cut them down to make the posts a little bit longer. I slid the straw pieces over each landing post and took small pieces of duct tape and secured them around the post. After I had adjusted these posts, I couldn't believe the difference it made! Chickadees, House Finches, Golden Finches, Chipping Sparrows, and other birds were able to land on the modified posts and eat comfortably! I will try to provide a picture or two of what I'm talking about so you can see what I mean. Overall, this feeder has been an excellent purchase! It would be nice though, if the manufacturer extended the posts to be twice as long so birds can perch and eat more easily.

I purchased several of these as gifts for Christmas, and Amazon got them delivered on time, so kudos to both Droll Yankee for still making a high quality, well designed product in the USA, and Amazon for being an effective front end for ordering and timely delivery at a good price. The product itself is well made, with sturdy metal parts instead of cheaper plastics, and finished in what looks like a heavy duty enamel to keep the metal parts looking new for a long time. The feeder is clearly designed to last for years. It is also well designed so it can be reloaded easily without having to disasseble it as some other feeder designs require. The only part that has any flex or give to it is the clear plastic tube that holds the seeds, and thickening the tube to the point it would have been rigid under heavy pressure would have added cost (for the extra material), weight (which would have to be paid for in additional shipping), etc., for no real functional benefit other than my apparent desire to have everything built like tanks. :-)

Should I buy any more seed type bird feeders, I will certainly look first at Droll Yankee, and likely will have no reason to look any further than their well designed, well made, Made In USA products. It is nice to see someone is still trying to make the best product, rather than the cheapest. :-)

The only issue I had was nothing with the feeder itself or Amazon delivery time, but just that rather than arriving each in its own individual Droll Yankee packaging box, IE, each feeder in its own manufacturer's packaging box and those all packed in a shipping carton, the multiple feeder order I made instead arrived with several unboxed feeders packed into one shipping carton, so that made it difficult to wrap them up as gifts since rather than wrapping up a normal rectangular box we were wrapping up unboxed bird feeders with projecting bird perch rods sticking out in all directions in gift wrapping paper. :-) I am not sure why these were shipped without each being in the usual manufacturer's packaging boxes, but they all arrived intact and undamaged regardless.
