Perfect performance - must to have for Nazareth's fans,
This review is from: Drool (Audio CD)
The ex-Nazareth guitarist Manny Charlton made great album. Some songs from Nazareth's "Snakes'n'Ladders" included in this album but like other versions that sound more heavy. All the songs in this album bring new and old sounds from Manny. Manny expressed him self making sound as he wanted. It's sad that none from songs from this album never translated on MTV or VH1. This is good rocking piece of the art. I f like Nazareth's music from late 70's or listen to hard rock, you'll enjoy this album.

If anything, get this album for the intro track, "Doom". In case anybody hasn't noticed it yet, the song is a tribute to the ever-popular computer game of the same name. The fact is Manny himself sent a complimentary audio cassette single of the song to John Romero (when he still worked for id Software) back in 1995. When you think about it, it's amazing just how much of an impact a seemingly simple computer game can make on someone. Of course, DOOM was no ordinary game at the time of its release, and Manny obviously knew this, hence the song ;)
Oh, and for the record, many fansites of the game (DOOM) keep referring to this track as "Blood On The Walls", so if you run any of those sites and you're reading this right now, please do the rest of the community a favor and change the name ;) |
