Biography

If you have been to the cinema or watched a DVD in the last 20 years, it's likely you have heard a Hans Zimmer track. Born in Germany in 1957, the keyboard player and writer began his career in the early 1980's electronic bands Ultravox and The Buggles, and with an Italian new wave band Krisma, playing on their third album Cathode Mama.

3.0 out of 5 stars Drop Zone Score, July 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
If you liked the music to the movie Drop Zone with Wesly Snipes, you're going to enjoy this CD. The score is very exciting and action packed allowing hours of enjoyment from listing to this CD. Be Warned, if your looking for the rock songs from the movie, your not going to find it here. This is only the movies score.

3.0 out of 5 stars These reviews are nuts!, January 26, 2003
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I first saw this CD when looking around at all the Zimmer scores I didn't have, and whatta ya know, I came along 'Drop Zone', the reviewers LOVED it, said it was GREAT, so I saw 'Drop Zone' coming on USA so I watch it, I have to say I like snipes but this movie was like a U.S. Marshals knock off, but I heard the opening theme and I was impressed. later that day I got on eBay and bid on one, I put the CD in and loved the first track, then the second track was some stupid rap song and I stopped it and saw that the running time was 37 minutes! and the rap song was 3! I was ticked, but after hearing it all, I really like track 1, 7 and 8, but I will warn you that the main theme is only played in track 1, track 8 and some what in track 3! and the second theme is only played in track 7! the main theme is a treat to hear, but is not played much, not Zimmers best, but would be much better if it had more music. If it contained the music when he and his brother are on the air plane before the attack and where he is on a inter state going to meet yancy butler, I would give it a 4 star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action music at its best!, January 6, 2001
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer, personally I think nobody can beat him in making powerful, exciting action music (especially this genré). Drop Zone is one of his best action-music scores. If you liked the scores to Broken Arrow (especially that one), The Rock and The Peacemaker, then you're gonna love this. Most tracks are good, but the 7th track will blow you away!
