5.0 out of 5 stars Action music at its best!
Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer, personally I think nobody can beat him in making powerful, exciting action music (especially this genré). Drop Zone is one of his best action-music scores. If you liked the scores to Broken Arrow (especially that one), The Rock and The Peacemaker, then you're gonna love this. Most tracks are good, but the 7th track will blow you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Drop Zone Score
If you liked the music to the movie Drop Zone with Wesly Snipes, you're going to enjoy this CD. The score is very exciting and action packed allowing hours of enjoyment from listing to this CD. Be Warned, if your looking for the rock songs from the movie, your not going to find it here. This is only the movies score.

3.0 out of 5 stars These reviews are nuts!, January 26, 2003
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I first saw this CD when looking around at all the Zimmer scores I didn't have, and whatta ya know, I came along 'Drop Zone', the reviewers LOVED it, said it was GREAT, so I saw 'Drop Zone' coming on USA so I watch it, I have to say I like snipes but this movie was like a U.S. Marshals knock off, but I heard the opening theme and I was impressed. later that day I got on eBay and bid on one, I put the CD in and loved the first track, then the second track was some stupid rap song and I stopped it and saw that the running time was 37 minutes! and the rap song was 3! I was ticked, but after hearing it all, I really like track 1, 7 and 8, but I will warn you that the main theme is only played in track 1, track 8 and some what in track 3! and the second theme is only played in track 7! the main theme is a treat to hear, but is not played much, not Zimmers best, but would be much better if it had more music. If it contained the music when he and his brother are on the air plane before the attack and where he is on a inter state going to meet yancy butler, I would give it a 4 star rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing soundtrack..., October 13, 2002

I bought this soundtrack based on the reviews on this site and because I love Hans Zimmer, but I was dissapointed. The soundtrack is only 37 minuets long(2 and a half of it is a dumb rap song..)and it lacks the power of Zimmer's other scores. The much hyped track 7 has only 30 powerful seconds in it and all the rest of the CD is annoyng with too much guitar strings involved...
If you want the best Zimmer score out there buy "The Peacemaker" which is in my opinion the most powerful soundtrack ever made,You can also buy the excellent "Crimson Tide","The Rock" and "Gladiator".

4.0 out of 5 stars A thrilling and powerful action score, January 10, 2003

This score by Hans Zimmer simply rocks from start to finish. Performed on synthesizers and wailing electric guitars, this score is full of testosterone and power. The tracks mainly consist of blaring action music such as "Drop Zone", "Hi Jack", "Miami Jump", "Too Many Notes - Not Enough Rests" (that's very true in this track), and "After the Dub". All of these tracks consist of wailing electric guitars, intense drum pads, and powerful synths that really do sound like an orchestra in parts. "Terry's Dropped Out" and Nick Glennie-Smith's cue "Flashback & Fries" are more laid back and more subtle cues with a change of pace from the pounding action music. The main theme is really cool and full of synths and electric guitars and can be found in "Drop Zone", "Hi Jack", "Too Many Notes - Not Enough Rests", which contains lots of knockout themes in it, and "After the Dub". The only let down is Ryeland Allison's cue "Hyphopera" which sounds like a lame rap song in parts. Overall though, a powerful and action filled score that kicks!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!, January 26, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD based on other reviews... and I was not disappointed. Track 7 is fabulous, but the rest of the CD shines as well. Thrilling, fast paced music makes this CD one of my all-time favorite soundtracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Blowing Action Music !!, July 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Drop Zone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Hans Zimmer is one of my favourite composers and I have almost all of his soundtracks. Belive me this is one of the best Action scores I've ever heard. When you play this one you feel it's going to blow you away. Comparing with this score, The Rock sounds like country, hehe. Buy it and tear your house down. Pure power.
