What a Freakin' Rip!!!, April 9, 2003
I'm so P'd off at buying this waste of money. I have the Canadian version, which is exactly like the import, but minus the "Ten Days" Album Version. Sure, the song is making it big now, and will most likely still playing in the summer on the Club scene. But there's just no soul to this song. One reason is because it's a cover. Celine Dion HAS so much potential. Everyone knows she can sing. That's not the point. But to promote an automobile company with a repetitious song???I was not impressed by finding that track #3 "I drove all night (Hex Hector Dub Import Mix)" was a GLORIFIED KARAOKE or just plain effortless instrumental. Geez...what were you thinking? We already have track 1 on the "One Heart" CD. Why put it on this and leave out another possible "hit" remix? Track 2 is not so great a remix. Not enough vocals. Poor mixing. Too repetitious! And they call it the "Extended Vocal Import Mix". I don't know what all the hype is over this remix!!! Track 3... I can't describe how mad I feel about this crap. What a loss of effort!!! I've been duped like this before. It's not the first time. Unfortunately, I've bought other remix singles from other artists, and found tracks like this (with little or no vocals at all). Fortunately, Celine never released a poorly made remix CD single before this. This song is entirely INSTRUMENTAL. Beware! It's over 7 minutes long, and is something you don't really want to listen to. I lost interest about 3 minutes into the very slow to start intro. I have one word to say about this... BORING! Here is the exasperating tracklist: I drove all night (Album Version), I drove all night (Hex Hector Extended Vocal Import Mix), I drove all night (Hex Hector Dub Import Mix) Ten Days (Album Version) Another money grabbing scam that SONY has come up with! What absolutely THOUGHTLESS packaging. My CD comes in a CD-R slimline Jewel case. HOW CHEAP CAN YOU GET??? It's not even a standard slimline model. The back is open on it. Glad to know if it breaks, I can use one of my cheap CD-R cases to replace it. All I got inside is a flimsy piece of paper measuring 4.75" X 4.75" for a cover. Also, the teeth that hold the CD in the case have made a dent in the paper cover. This P's me off so much. If you plan on doing the Club Scene thang, you'll be more entertained by hearing "I drove all night" there. Considering it's being played everywhere, you don't even have to leave your home. It's on the radio about 10 times a day, played by every radio announcer on shift on all the stations! Don't buy it. Save your money. That's it!
