What a Freakin' Rip!!!,

This review is from: I Drove All Night (Audio CD)
I'm so P'd off at buying this waste of money. I have the Canadian version, which is exactly like the import, but minus the "Ten Days" Album Version. Sure, the song is making it big now, and will most likely still playing in the summer on the Club scene. But there's just no soul to this song. One reason is because it's a cover. Celine Dion HAS so much potential. Everyone knows she can sing. That's not the point. But to promote an automobile company with a repetitious song??? I was not impressed by finding that track #3 "I drove all night (Hex Hector Dub Import Mix)" was a GLORIFIED KARAOKE or just plain effortless instrumental. Geez...what were you thinking? We already have track 1 on the "One Heart" CD. Why put it on this and leave out another possible "hit" remix? Track 3... I can't describe how mad I feel about this crap. What a loss of effort!!! Here is the exasperating tracklist: I drove all night (Album Version), Another money grabbing scam that SONY has come up with! What absolutely THOUGHTLESS packaging. My CD comes in a CD-R slimline Jewel case. HOW CHEAP CAN YOU GET??? It's not even a standard slimline model. The back is open on it. Glad to know if it breaks, I can use one of my cheap CD-R cases to replace it. All I got inside is a flimsy piece of paper measuring 4.75" X 4.75" for a cover. Also, the teeth that hold the CD in the case have made a dent in the paper cover. This P's me off so much. That's it!

Cyndi's Version Blows Celine's Out of Space!,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Drove All Night (Audio CD)
If you like modern music and real singers buy Cyndi's version, because Celine dion voice and style fits well the 70s and also is a great listening for mothers and fathers. Cyndi beside de pop Diva look and great vocal talent delivers this song like a GODESS. Listen to Cyndi TWELVE DEADLY CYN'S "I Drove All Night" and you will see why her version BLOWS OUT CELINE'S version. Cyndi's video of "I Drove All Night" is also fantastic. Ms. Lauper SHINES!!!!!!!!!! The DIVA bouces back!!!!!!!

There is nothing worthy on this release. This single not special and is a blatant attempt by Sony Music to rake in more funds from Celine Dion fans. Skip this useless single and purchase the entire cd "ONE HEART".

I was watching tv when the Chrysler commercial came and I saw Celine's big nose and i said to myself OH NO she didn't I have listened to all the versions of this song by Roy Orbison,Cindy Lauper and what's her face and I honestly like Cindy's version better, her voice are more powerful, soulful(if there is such a word)....Thats what I think.

Can Celine sing without over-dramatizing everything? Indeed, she does have a powerful voice. However, a great pipe does not constitute a great singer. As a matter of fact, her voice is down right annoying with all the shouting and scream. Everything has to be ended with a way over-produced note. People! This is a ROY ORBINSON's song! It is neither Cindy Lauper's nor Celine's. Listen to Orbinson's original recording and appreciate the spiritually bareness of the song. Cindy Lauper's version is way better than Ms Dion's melodramatic, ear-numbing screech.

If you are a celine fan you won't be disappointed. The first single from her latest album. It maybe for a commercial but it still sounds pretty good. Her voice is always amazing. The range, the power. It's incrediable what she can do with it. It's a good dance song to listen to.

This is without a doubt one of Celine's best. I also loved the original by Cyndi Lauper, but I love Celine's vocal treatment on it. I really hope it's a huge hit because it deserves to be. Dance pop at its best. Her voice on the chorus is awesome. "I Drove All Night" definitely deserves to be a #1 hit. Her best single since "To Love You More."

Well done Celine - but Cyndi's is better.,

When I first heard Celine singing this on her Chrysler commercial campaign, I could hardly believe my ears. Celine had covered a Cyndi Lauper classic? Celine does a great job with her version which is aimed at the dance floors. Her voice sounds great and the song rocks. But once again, this proves in the inferiority of remakes. Beat for beat, vocal for vocal, Cyndi Lauper's version blows Celine's out of the atmosphere. Whereas Celine's is guided toward the club, Cyndi's version is haunting. Cyndi sings this song from the heart and captures the longing and desperation in her vocals. Buy both if you can (they're both good) but if you had to choose one or the other, buy Cyndi's.

LOVE CELINE BUT.........................,

This is not for her. Her voice doesnt fit well in this song. Does not have the grit or sexiness of the far superior Cyndi Lauper version. I do love Celine but this beat also seems very generic and her voice doesnt seem to match the beat of the song.Listen its not terrible but there was no reason for this remake. Why dont they make a dance song for Celine that uses that AMAZING voice of hers instead of rehashing a song that doesnt need to be. Cyndi over Celine??? I cant believe i have to say Cyndi

Club Celine,

Celine's newest smash is her rendition of I Drove All Night. This might be a surprise to those that think that Celine is doing the same old music she's always done, its a high energy dance song with great vocals from Celine. This is the first single from her newest album ONE HEART. Hex Hector provides some mixes for the single, which work quite well and I predict will become big club hits for Celine. It's good to see her trying a new style with her music and getting away from the cookie cutter sound she adapted to on her albums. The dub isn't a favorite of mine, but I'm not really a fan of dubs anyway. Overall a decent single with good remixes, worth checking out if you are an avid Celine Dion fan!
