Not Bad For Being In The Used CD Bin,
By Wes "The Music Reviewer" Imel (Lapeer, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Drowning Pool (Audio CD)
I shop at this used cd/book store quite often. I have seen this cd on the shelf for over a year. I decided to pick it up and look at the track listing; where I saw they did a cover of the song Black Betty. I had an extra $2 and picked it up. Its not a bad cd by any means. I've heard better, but I've also heard worse. My favorite songs are of course the cover of Black Betty, Some Other Day, and Don't Breathe The Air

Album-Drowning Pool Artist-Rumbledog,
By Headbanger By Nature "Headbanger By Nature" (Left Coast) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Drowning Pool (Audio CD)
Drowning Pool (although a great band) Have absalutly nothing to do with this disc. Drowning Pool's Sinner came out in 2001 Rumbledog released the ST debut in 1993 and The Drowning Pool in 1995. So instead of dissing Rumbledog you need to Dis Drowning Pool for stealing the name. Anyone who did get this and liked it should look into the ST debut and any and all Dirty Looks you can find. Also look into Burning orange Taar. Anyone who loves Dirty Looks and was interested in Rumbledog, they are not the same. This is still a great disc and Rumbledog are a great band but this is NOT Cool From The Wire or Turn Of The Screw. If you liked Slave To The Machine or Rip It Out you should enjoy either of Rumbledogs releases. Anyone that likes 80's Hard Rock or Ac/Dc around the Dirty Deeds-High Voltage era should look into DIRTY LOOKS! They are by far my Favorite band and have been since around 1989 when I discovered Cool From The Wire. I done everything I can think of to grow my collection from then. Don't stop with the 3 listed CD's. They are all great. I even have I Want More, In Your Face and the self titled idependant releases. Cool From The Wire, Turn Of The Screw, Five Easy Pieses, Bootlegs, One Bad Leg, Chewing On The Bit, Rip It Out, Slave To The Machine, Rumbledog-Rumbledog, Rumbledog-Drowning Pool, & Burning Orange-Taar close out my collection.

Iagree it not the best of the two they did but it has it moments.Like everclear and chew on razor blades ,they sound like dirty looks songs and are my favorites. If you like dirty looks try either of the rumble dogs album iam sure you will find them enyoyable.I hope this review was helpfull to you.

Rumbledog - descendent of Dirty Looks.,

A hard to find CD, fronted by ex-Dirty Looks vocalist Henrik Ostergaard. Jassen Wilber supplies the bass. Some change of direction following Dirty Looks. If you want another sleaze classic like Cool From The Wire then this ain't it. But what you do have are competent musicians executing a good, solid album following the changes in rock throughout the early nineties and there should be something in here for Dirty Looks fans who are willing to listen. Shall I give Drowning Pool's albums 1 star now for not being Rumbledog? Mmmmm. . .

I don't see why everyone is complaining just because this isn't an album by the band Drowning Pool. Its by a band called Rumbledog though and its called Drowning Pool, but you don't have to diss them about that! This album came out before Drowning Pool even released their first so don't diss it.Plus this album doesen't sound THAT bad...So I guess its a ok album.

Ok, I only gave this cd 1 star for one thing, I don't know who the heck these guys are and I've never listened to them (if you have a problem with that you can just go fornicate yourself). I'm only here to let you all know this is NOT one of Drowning Pool's cds. Do the song titles actually look like something DP would use? No. Ignore what the other dude wrote because he's just trying to mess with everyone, but this is not a DP cd.

Tolerable...,

...but not much else. Its not BAD, and if this was Drowning Pool's only release I could maybe get into it, but its realy dwarfed by Sinner, their latest release. I'd say the best tracks on here are probably Ever Clear, and Maybe Cicada. But a lot of the rest isn't worth mentioning. Its OK, but it really looks poor measured up to Sinner. Buy this if you like the samples, they're a pretty good idea of what most of the album is about. |
