After several years of study I decided to read a text book on the current views,opinions, and changes about drug use and abuse. My choice for this book was originally based on the most current copyright date and edition. This book with its blunt title and layout in the table of contents assured me that this is what I was searching for. The information is spot on, and the background, history, and unknown trivia about the use and abuse of drugs made this book an enjoyable read. Packed with knowledge and concise description this book is a must read and useful addition to the book shelf at home, school, or office for anyone seeking knowledge on the subject of drugs and how they affect American society. I'm glad I found it.

This is an excellent book for those who want to learn more about addiction science (pharmacology, neuroscience, etc.) The sections devoted to epidemiology, prevention and treatment only comprise 125 pages out of 424 (the latter not including the glossary, references-which are excellent-and index). Also, at about $90, the book is overpriced. There are simliar books available for $50-60.

Condition of book was good. Lots of underlining in pencil...can't remember if item description mentioned it but Its not that big of a deal anyways.

I was extremely pleased with the quality, accuracy, and speedy delivery of this book! I don't usually like to buy online because I can't see the actual product before purchase only a picture. But I have ordered from Amazon before and I've always been pleased.

This book provides a great overview of most recreational and popular over the counter drugs. Very easy to read, informative, and interesting. Recommended to anyone interested in the subject.

Delivery was very fast but when the book arrived it had some marks on the cover. Booke is very up to date with information on Drug Use and Abuse, very easy read.

This is a textbook, plain and simple. It's not so dry that you fall asleep reading it, though. It has some interesting information and, for the most part, is easy to follow. Don't leave it in a hot car, though, or it may fall apart (a good epoxy glue can fix that)

The listing said "like new," but the book was definitely not in like new condition. The cover was torn and the pages had red smudges on them. I probably would have tried to get my money back had it not been for time constraints with this book. Sent email, did not respond.
