As a practical complement to the full-sized PDR, the PDR Drug Guide for Mental Health Professionals is a user friendly reference for both clinicians and non-clinicians taking care of patients with mental health disorders. The easy-to-read reference provides insight into therapeutic situations and guidance for safe drug usage.

I love this book. I use it all the time. I especially like the pics of the meds since many clients come in saying they took "the orange pill". It helps identify what meds they are taking. I often use it to educate my clients about the medication, the side-effects, what to look for, what to avoid, how to take it. It helps me support my clients more. I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend this book for professionals who work in the mental health field or for those who work in Child Protection or a related field that might need a quick reference for medications that their clients might be on if you aren't already familar with it.

PDR Drug Guide for Mental Health Professionals

This is a smaller version of the Physician PDR specifically for Mental Health practicianers. It is up to date, easy to use and is the first source I use regarding medication. I order one every year...every year more psychotrophic medications become available.
