5.0 out of 5 stars Altho a difficult read this is a great teaching text, July 5, 1998

This review is from: Drugs and Society (Paperback)
This text provides informative and up to date information regarding a broad range of drug related topic. Althought the reading level is not easy, the information is extremely useful for drug counselors. The information presented regarding psychopharmacology provides an excellent base of preparation for the certification test used in many states. I highly recommend this text as well as many of the web site exercises.

This book seemed like a good source of information about drugs. However, I have started to doubt how valid the information in it is because I noticed that Wikipedia is cited in two places. Wikipedia is not a reliable enough source to be cited in a textbook! Additionally, I found that a map showing statistics on alcohol use conflicted with the information that was in the text that was discussing the same study results.

As good as one can hope for a textbook Delong with drugs and Alphonso. It's a book people should hope their teachers teach with. Easy IMO to my find and very informative. Good, as far as dry textbooks are concerned.
